Looking forward to contributing to the scene; :4:

HAHA I'm just studying there at University, I live in Hitchin, previously Luton just north of London so luckily I have the right number of digits :W: Playing the 'board with more fingers would be pretty sweet though!

Search his posts, have fun finding one without a GIF or an improperly placed in joke... Obvious trolls tend to be obvious.

EDIT : @Original Poster : Welcome aboard, keep that link in your sig though or youll get some ribs for it!

REMIX! Oh god no, I knew the owner's of the club and helped set up Boogaloo Beats record shop nextdoor but there wasn't the market for it in such a small town. Where abouts in London are you from, just see the postcode

I don't understand this forum sometimes. I don't really care either way but I like sticking to rules once they are set so either people should be allowed to advertise or not. There seems to be massive double standards on here. Sometimes people post things very similar to this thread and all the people that just slated rook would be kicking off at them for 'wasting forum space' or whatever but here rook gets slammed just for acting how people generally react to threads like this. I don't get the difference :\ I'm not saying the OP should be slammed I'm just saying I wish it were a little clearer what *is* and *isn't* allowed on this board because at the moment I'm real confused.

DUDE! People were wigging out about posting the link to my page on the post, I edited it to resolve the situation; it was an error on my part, I forgot to originally post it in the sig. Cool, I wouldn't have bothered making the thread if I realised i'd have been scrutinized so hard as to slip up on a rule. My bad :Q:

it's an introduction ffs that just so happens to have a link to his soundcloud
it's not a PEEP MY TUNES i haven't read the rules post
pretty easy distinction to make in my book
hell i wish more people would do introductory posts as a common courtesy, lurking or not

Lol you'll get used to it. That's just how things are round here. I don't think a threads allowed to stay open unless there's either been some flaming, an alpaca or animated gifs in it. Threads with all 3 are automatically stickied.

EDIT: @Deadly - We really should have a sticky for introductions, I've been on quite a few forums and most don't take kindly AT ALL to people starting threads to introduce yourself so I never do these days, if there aint an 'introduce yourself' thread then I don't do it. Personally I don't see how one person starting a thread with their first post with a link to their tunes saying "feedback please" is any different to another person starting a thread with their first post with a link to their tunes saying "Hi I'm new". Not saying either *should* be penalised but I just don't understand why there are such different rules for different people.

Cause every show, rave, booking agent, label, dj, circle of friends, forum, facebook group, 40 of hurricane, shared cigarette, record store, gang, football league, landlord, cashier, mcdonalds employee, music distro, youtube channel, and dude whos going to mug you walking down the road, have different rules for different people. All in the attitude man.

it's usually pretty easy to determine whether a post is spam or in this case an introduction
not a matter of rules more a matter of common sense

that and for how sarcastic of a bastard as i am i don't strictly try hard to be funny or an asshole, that's just me, but at least i contribute content and not just jabs at people and image macros
seems like some people lose common courtesy, common sense and basic empathy the second they get online

yep

I read his post like "hi, thanks for the tips over the years"

not "I'm new, check out my tunes"

maybe he edited his post before I saw it, but at least he's giving props and not all "LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME"

I purely removed the link to my soundcloud page that i'd typed two lines under the 'Syza' end to the post, the rest of the message is untouched. As i said, that was the mistake on my part to include the link as opposed to putting it in my sig, just wanted to big up everyone as i've learned a lot prior to registering.
