@critical sound system - digging it actually man. Really like the industrial feel of the whole track. I agree with the comments about the intro though - too long. Also, I feel like the drums need a little more weight. The snare is fine, but the kick needs a bit more meat.

@debaser - I like the kind of fairy-tale start you got going with the synth, but it needs some percussion and a little bass imo. I also feel like the silence before the first drop is probably a bit too lengthy

@traffikz - yikes man! Drums are powerful and punchy, love em. The syncopated kick at times (and the bongo/snare combos) are really really nice. The oriental style flute really floats my boat, love it. Breakdown before the drop is tight and really just love the whole feel of this. Deserves a follow - great stuff! :)

@gonzodj - man, that vocal sample is wicked. Love it. Reminds me of hardstyle, shit I used to love. haha. That intro bass needs some more modulation, it drones on a bit. Could be me but the whole track seems to be lack bass quite a bit. Drums are nice and crisp and feel well put together, good work.

@caverage - pretty nice man. Heavy yet chilled, sounds great. The only thing that really throws me is the snare (doesn't feel heavy enough) and the panning on some of those synths, almost felt confused after a while :P

This is my new WIP. Currently a remix of Grooki's "Quiet". Bless him for providing the stems, love the track. Am currently working on the breakdown/buildup for the second drop, so bear that in mind. I think the length is too long :) Cheers in advance!

@amphibian - im using headphones i think the pad needs to be toned down a bit, awesome tho, everything is sweet with percussion, and the drop and the melody is off the chain, everything is sweet but it seems it's missing something? would like to hear more of this keep it up!

@c average - i think the strange pad that you have used doesn't really work, cool bass techniques wish i could do that, and like the panning effects but that second drop is really really good at the start! I think your low end is sweet but you need to work on the drums and the high end? overall solid effort

@craggle - i can see this going off, but maybe the notes on your wobble lower it an octave? seems pretty solid, the build up is good, i think everything you have chosen blends really well with each other, keep it up!

@traffikz - I think the lower flute or whatever, you should switch it with something else? not that easy on the ears, doesn't grab you when you start listening to the track. the bass kicks in proper dude and i like the drums before that drop, top notch effort on the wobble, got that shit on the lock

@lordbid - I think your production starting to stand out from the others.. you're quite experienced, but the vocal samples you use I'm not a fan of personally, don't know what to recommend tho

oh and weedcali mad props for the song in you're sig been listening to it a lot lately :4:

Who ever listens might need to turn up the volume it's kinda low. I'm not that experienced so must my music is unexpected sounds but been messing around with this, the loop gets kinda repetitive, and the intro needs a little work.. might lead it into a wobble or something, any suggestions?

Wow i love this thread, when we get the actual feedback train going! :w:

@Mindcontrol: Thanks for the feedback.
I'm digging the vibe on your tune! But it all sounds a bit too muffled. Your snippet lacks high
on the snares, and some funky hats. Other than that, nothing to criticize, bass sounds massive (shame
the soundcloud player fucks up the sub), should kill on big soundsystems.

@Amphibian: Thanks for the feedback.
Commented on your soundcloud. Really can't believe you been producing since June. Wtf man, that's crazy.
Love the spacy approach and overall texture of the song. Two thumbs up!

C AverRage: I really like this! So cool. I love that melody synth (reminds me of the tune in Spoilsbury Toast Boy) and the melodies overall. No need to comment on the production as it's solid. Anyway, awesome tune and I would love to hear more!
Psythe: Dark and evil vibe. Cool synths but you need to work on the mix, mostly the drums which gets totally muddled by the bass. Great arrangement though but I would like it to stop right before the drop to make it stand out more.
amphibian: Nice underwater feeling and athmosphere. I can see a lot of strange sea creatures slowly swimming by. I think you should remove the bit where the bass switches up (1:04) as it kind of ruins the mellow feeling. You said you are working on the breakdown so won't comment on that (but it's empty yeah). Will definitely be interesting to hear the second drop anyhow!
mindcontrol: Good foundation but as you said the loop gets kind of repetitive. I like beats that are filtered but you should definitely open it up when it "drops". Leading it into a wobble I think is a good idea by the wat. I can actually hear something like that in my back head. I like the little glitchy sounds that are here and there in the beat. Makes it more interesting.

Ok, here is an early WIP. Not sure if I will continue on it though. Tell me what you think.

from page 6

@ weedcali: I like your sound. Your tune is a bit repetetive though. More variartion would be nice. An irie sample, a stab, guitar riff ... I like the sound of your wobble. This tune has a lot of potential. Eager to hear the finishing product!

@ billuf: Track is not really my cup of tea, but the production vallue is ok though. Snare could use a bit more punch or layering. Add an extra clap on your snare to make it sound punchier.

@ jakedubber: First of all: where's the sub? Only hear midrange sounds? Drums needs more work, especially your snare. The Apocalyps Now sample is cool, but is not that original anymore. Your pad is cool, but try to bring variation in it. I'm not too found of the midrange wobble. Try to make it more subtle.

@ Debaser: I like the idea! Pads and synths are nice. You need to work on your drums. The snare needs a lot more punch. Also your mixdown could use some work. It's sounds a bit flat from time to time. Cool tune though, looking forward when it's finished.

@ Palo 56: Very nice production, allthough I'm not a fan of this sound. The switch ups are well done. Drums could be punchier, especially your snare! Nothing more to add really, I think you'll figure it out! :)

@ Remokari: drums and sub are well done! Strangly enough there are some parts in your tune I really like, but also dislike. I think it's cool when you wobble that synth like in 0.54. The synth in the intro is nice! Keep it up!

@Ianmassoth: Nice! Really love the synth! But I'm missing some elements though, it's sound a bit hollow. Listen to MDMA fe which is also striped down. Because off a few it sounds warmer and fuller. Try not to overuse the delay on the synth though. Nice tune!

@ beatbum: I like the piano intro. I'm not to found of the drop though. Production vallue is a ok. Also there are a lot of sounds that fits the tune perfectly. But it just doesn't do it for me. That main wobble synth sound to digital for me.

@ Fatach: It's really hard to give feedback on your tune as it sounds really weird to me. There are some ok parts in it, but the overal feeling is chaotic. My advice is to strip down your tune and rebuild everything. Chose one main lead to get the attention of your listeners.

@ weedcali: Mixdown is like your previous one a-ok. I like the piano in the intro, but it's way too long. I'm getting a bit bored of it after a while. Add new elements to make the whole sound more interesting. I'm not really found of the wobbleing sound in the intro. The drop is cool though, but drums kind off fade away. Keep it up!

@wub: very nice! drums are awsome, I love the synth and I even like the movie sample. Nothing more to add really! Nice work!

@Critical Sound System: Tune has potential. Work on your mixdown and bring more variation in your tune, and I think you'll have a nice finishing product. I'm also missing a good pad of extra elements besides the wobble to make your tune interesting.

@Debaser1: I really like the musicbox-like intro, the drops comes to sudden though. Your tune would 'drop' better if there a built up in your intro. Even a rising fx would be more effective. Tune is cool, but I'm missing some variety though. Keep it up!

@Beardyman123: Intro is a bit odd, but cool. The bass and synth are overwhelming. I think you'll have to work on your mixdown. Drop a few elements or synths, because there's to much going on.

@Gonzodj: This tune has a lot of potential! Really love the synth, it's a bit Kromestar a like! Very nice! Hats sound a bit to hard in the mix. Tune lacks a bit of sub to.
Overall nice tune, just work on your mixdown and I think you'll have a nice dancefloor tune! Big up!

@ Craggle: Build up to the drop is very nice. I'm not to found of the wobble-ing synth though. Drums are very crisp, nice work on that! Your sub also sounds warm and bouncy! Nice! Pitty about the midrange action, because I really like this!

@C Average: Awsome intro! Really like that '50 sounding sample. I'm not found of the wobble, but that's just a matter of taste I suppose. Production vallue is very good! Snare could use more punch and delay. Nice job!

@Psythe: Tune sounds a bit too distorted. Not really found of the intro. Sound of the wobble is ok, but I'm not really stunned by it. Try to bring more variety in your tune. I think there's potential!

@amphibian: Lovely tune! Those pads are unbelievable! Drums are nice, as is your sub. I'm missing a main melody or vocal sample to get things more going. But overall very nice tune!

I really hope there's more than one member on this board who will give feedback on my tune. It's really not ok posting your tune here, asking people to comment it and leaving without even listening to the tunes of your fellow members. Rant over.

Goldorak: BASS BASS BASS. That sub is intense. And when that piano came in I was heavily in awe of you. Percussion sounds cool too. In my opinion, the ride sticks out too much. It decays too quickly so it stands out. Either lengthen it, or blend it in with some verbs. Make no mistake though, this is a really cool track. Second drop did it for me. Love the space.

No-one's gonna give you feedback if you just drop your tunes into a thread. It's reciprocal.
As it stands, the production is a tad out on your tune, and there's some clashing notes between bass and synth. Good ideas though.

@goldorak- nice cymbals in the intro, housey build up, loving the conga rhythm and the pulsing bass, kind of like a house ting going underneath the full blown dubstep beat, and the pianos are sick too. The vocals sit really well in the mix aswell. The only thing I can think of is getting the bass to play a pattern that isnt just one note repeated for a time, switch it up a fifth every half bar or something. Anyway, nice tune.

@grok- really really nice, the vocals sit really well on the beat and it definitely sounds like it's building up to a big switch up somewhere, love the little fills. I find the little "oh yeah" noise after the snare to be a bit annoying though, just personal preference i suppose. Good start.

@mindcontrol- really like the bass, very nice, but the drums never really come out, you should automate the volume in the drums to increase along with the bass rather than just staying at the same level and being drowned out, reminds me of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVmrkOZTpmU , which is a tune.

This is my first attempt at a "remix" for a mate on his acoustic guitar, any tips for remixing?

SuperGinger, Love melody! i think the vocals fit the melody perfect! however, when the bass comes in, i dont feel there is much presence. needs more sub.

Goldorak, first off, thanks for the feedback :) i like your track a lot. real chilled vibes. the percussion is real nice. really like when the piano and horns come in. not too much to critique here :)

Grok, real clubby track. love the drums and panning on the hihats. i think your track needs more sub though.

Amphibian, reeaalll laid back! totally diggin those intro pads. this is some smoke-a-blunt-to shit XP

Ill re-up this one

@amphibian - top work here mate! intro is nice and atmospheric very smooth. Nice hat work too. Love how the drop is abit darker and very spacey!
@mindcontrol - sounds very muffled and gets very repetitive. bass sounds good though
@Grok - Ok first of all you have to finish this off! wasn't too sure about the intro but after it dropped i loved it. nice panning work too!
@goldorak - really feeling this man. very different indeed. some funky bongo shit goin on ha! my only complaint is the snare stands out abit but apart from that top job!

Ok heres an early WIP which i whipped up today :D
Little to no mixing down done. Would just like abita constructive feedback please.

Iv been told it sounds like alota different tunes tbh! I guess its just a common bassline arrangement. I guess that's what you're talking about because that's the only thing that it vaguely coincides with! The sound is completely different also but i can hear where your coming from.

TYPING WHILE LISTENING + typing after hearing the whole tune :P

#amphibian
nice and sensitive pad.. it's perfectly EQ'd. hats are nice.. it really fits in with the intro. the drop holds up to the great quality of the intro :) good choice of drums.. I like the synths and the pads... they sound like they are in a distance. but you should really cut down breakdown. intro length is fine, but more drop would be appriciated! good tune overall :)

#mindcontrol
groovy. turn up the volume though. make a more interesting drop, I'd think it would sound cool if you had some permanent pad or bassline... doesnt have to be aggressive but I think your track lacks presence. I think your work is quite interesting though! would be fun to hear the final product :)

#Grok
yeayeaaaa I like this kina of rude style in the intro :D I don't like britney spears at all... but this was cool as hell.. really unique production mate! I like the shouts or w/e they are... but please don't abuse them in the drop. I'd say every 4 bars or maybe every other bar for a short time. every 8 bars might just do the trick.

#goldorak
wow... nice tirbal drums/percs or what should I call them? :P I think the track is quite groovy... I liek when the piano drops in unexpected! but I'd might pump the tune with more melodical elements.. but if you think it's good the way you made it, I think you should stick with it!! ;) BTW! the nice indian(?) singing is wicked! you should bring it in the first drop too.

#aranha
I like the lead ALOT in the intro. but the melody is just too cheesey and lame.. :/ (sorry)! I really admire your mixing, since you are so new with producing! drop is not too cool :P try making it intersting by automating the lfo speed and add a filter to get some cool sounds to variate a bit! :) second drop is alot better then the first... you managed to get a anice structure of the song, I can imagine you will produce som bangers later on when you got more experience.

#hutyluty
hmm.. nice ideas for the intro, but to repetitive. you must fix that!!! dude... I think you can fix the track... but right now it's just giving me a headache. btw, I don't really know what you are trying accomplish? which genre? chill with the snare. use it 1/8 beat. add a melodic synth/lead or instrument too. I don't want to be rude or mean, I just want to help.. so don't take my feedback as something negative! :)

#weedcali
thx for feedback! :t:
sweet intro. a bit scary bellarpeggio there :P cool! you should put the drop after the synthrise (0.28-0.56), and use the second part of the intro for the breakdown or something. I like the beastly drop. sickly well made, it's like a mix of traditonal rusko/caspa bassline with a modern touch from new producers! keep it up mate :D best track so far! and I mean it ;)

#jak-a-tron
not my cup of tea... so it gets ard to give feedback. nice vibes and I like your work. cool snare, but decrease the reeverb with just a bit.

#nicorisine
nice beat. while equalizing that bassline, I would add some more freq at the 250hz knob. (the regular bass in parametric EQ). Nice ideas though... finish it off :D

FOR YOU WHO DIDN'T TRUST MY ETHICS :P
I know it sucks with people just dropping their tracks and expecting feedback without giving to others. I hope you are all satisfied with the feedback I gave and i would appriciate some on my track too. it's a work in progress, a dubstep/triphop remix of "Notorious B.I.G. - Party and Bullshit". I perosnally think this remix got a bit of potential and I really wanna finish it off nicely. I've been having some thoughts about it and I think I will add some more reeverb to fill in the presence in teh drop. might add some more sub to drop too since a few commented it. please give me some more feedback on this one!
