can't wait to see this, probs gonna track it down at the cinema from what some of you guys are saying
Re: Enter The Void
I'm not to sure whether or not I enjoyed the film. Visually, it takes a big steaming dump over this 3D wankfest film is having at the moment, and shows that flashing lights and inventive camera angles make for a more rewarding experience. The storyline however, I felt was a bit weak. Scenes were repeated which smacked of laziness, and some of the characters didn't seem very well thought out. The hilariously OTT love hotel scene at the end had me and the other people in the cinema giggling like school children, but had to two ket heads next to me weeping. Even some older viewers were in there (65+) and they seemed to really enjoy it.
Its an interesting film, but a film that no one should see sober. Will always be one of those films thats better in the cinema than say on DVD or TV.

I thought the repetition of scenes were good & added extra effect to the story line but. I thought the characters were good but some of the acting was shocking esepcially the english kid in it. He cant act to save hs life.

Re: Enter The Void
Just back from seein this. Was by far one of the best cinema experiences i've had in a while. Always loved trippy films with amazing visuals but this one nailed it. Not gonna give it a big review cos i'm half cut and ready for bed but yet another involving and memorable film from Gaspar Noe. Really sums up the experience of tripping that so many films have tried and failed to do, plus it had so much substance. The way it ended could have been seen as obvious but the way it came round actually took me by surprise (the voddy may have been a contributing factor to that tho).
Can see why it wasn't shown at the mainstream cinemas here with the explicit scenes and the long drawn out subdued moments (not to mention the strobe action), but once again Noe nudged the boundaries of what is acceptable to hit the public eye with.
Will be watching again with something a little more stimulating in the system

Re: Enter The Void
this is online now. if you want the uncut version, it's the one by Noir.
Re: Enter The Void

exactly what i thought when we watched itwubstep wrote: The trailer had flashes that looked uncannily like trips I've had.
insane on a big screen, but the uncut version does feel like it goes on slightly longer then it should. we were sayin it relates alot to a trip itself, the big build up at the start and then the crazyness, then the gradual decline in strong feelings and emotions etc, but your almost anticipating for the end after a while

Re: Enter The Void

Re: Enter The Void
Going to wait for the blu-ray to come out since no where in the North has a screening.
