MODESTEP DJ SET @ 229, SAT 4 DEC

Post by 229TheVenue » Mon Nov 15, 2010 6:17 pm

MODESTEP WILL LAUNCH THEIR NEW EP ON JANUARY.
COME TO 229, SAT 4 DEC (£5 ADV) TO DISCOVER THEM. THEY ARE GOING TO BE BIG....
Modestep are pleased to announce the release of their debut release, the "Modest EP." The EP includes the band's soulful Dubstep cover of the Pointer Sisters - Slow Hand, the bass-heavy "Bogey Wonderland" sampling Earth, Wind and Fire and the epic "Exile," with currently over 101,000 plays on YouTube and being pumped out on Dubstep FM and clubs across the world.

Modestep are a new 4-piece live Dubstep band hailing from North London. Individually brothers Josh and Tony Friend have been producing and DJing for over 10 years before turning their sights to Dubstep. The band were brought together after meeting drummer Matt and former Hard-Dance producer Oz with the idea of creating a live dubstep band to mirror Pendulum's success with Drum & Bass.

Modestep combine a varied range of musical tastes such as Rock, Motown, 2-step, Drum & Bass and Trance with the aim of bringing something different to the Dubstep scene. With Josh's deep, soulful vocals mixed with their signature filthy basslines, Modestep offer a commercially acceptable and radio friendly form of Dubstep that still has major dance-floor appeal.

When Modestep perform live, they create a unique experience that astonishes and overwhelms their audience, creating a warm uplifting atmosphere. By combining live DJing and remixing, drum and synth solo's and infectious vocals, Modestep do it live like no other.

As well as the major airplay, Modestep run a weekly Dubstep radio show on Sunday night which gets over 1,000 listeners and have had support and airplay from major Dubstep producers including Cookie Monsta, DubFreaks and Borgore. Modestep are also pleased to announce future slots live gigs at Matter and Pulse with DubFreaks and Let's Go Crazy respectively in August, as well as being booked on a European tour including countries such as Holland, Germany, Cyprus and Greece.
