‘Dubstep Whomp Bass’ Propellerhead Reason Video Tutorial

Post by rx » Wed Nov 17, 2010 7:34 pm

Hey guys, Rx here from Dubspot.

We posted our video on how to make a dubstep "Whomp" bass, found in a ton of current production (Doctor P, Rusko, etc.) I'm looking forward to using this myself, and feel free to post any links to tracks you've heard this technique used in...especially if its your own!

Whenever I see one of these online course things I always think they look kinda cool until I see the price. Then it's like 0.o

that facility/classes/instruction look like the field trip of my dreams.

It is just my humble and ignorant opinion that its an unsustainable industry (that type of edu). a production college geared toward EDM
Only rich wannabe's and already-pros could indulge. The rest of us are still scrapping about in our bedrooms :)

It's certainly a luxury only the rich can afford but it's not an unsustainable industry by any means. Schools like that make a TON. Serious fam, that point blank school brings in plenty of cash I'm sure..

if that video is anything to go by then i'm guessing it's a shit college.

all they did was give settings, they could have just uploaded the combi patch because there was no theory or education in there at all.

Thats not what I call a 'wump wump'. Its a distorted mess.

Heres wump wump. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5kz4JECAxQ

Now you show us if Reason can make a sound like that and then we can talk business :D
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I really dont know how anyone can call that noise a 'wump / whomp' as an artist. You are making that sound, does it really sound like wump wump to you?! wtf...
