Just been told that one of our boilers failed over the weekend, and that's why it's so cold.

Anyone do anything production related this w/e? I recreated the pulse rifle sound from Aliens and finished off a tech house tune I'd been working on.

Made a subby rolling track with some nice vocal samples. Gonna mix it down later.

Just been given the go ahead to work from home today as the boilers aren't coming back online any time soon. Would be fine if I didn't live 26miles away.

Mate, I would sell my granny to be able to work from home.

Of course "working from home" in my case would be "Pretending to work from home whilst dicking around with Cubase and having a huge spliff"

So.. I just got my paycheck and i realized that i am not going to be able to save for some new turntables. I have some Stanton decks right now and they suck.
I am looking to buy some 1210s... But as I am broke I need some advice on how to make money quick.
Dealing crack is not an option btw.
Any ideas?

@JFK - No, watched DVDs last night (BTW The Wrestler is shit). What channel was it on?

@Mehlovich - You could try selling the Stantons and then using the cash from them as the down payment on getting a new pair of 1210s that you pay off in installments?

Am back at home now, warm as you like, fresh bowl of pasta next to me and a chilled day ahead. Bliss 8)

my girl and i used to watch that, and it was interesting for a while.
It's really hard for me to like the main characters though, which kinda puts a damper on the whole show for me.

Message just got off my manager;

"We've got snow forecast for Slough tomorrow, so check the weather before you head in. If it's looking bad, work from home"

Oh hell yeah :D

Couple of years back when it was properly heavy, I spent the morning in the pub then the afternoon building a snow man with the cab office drivers at the end of the road. Good times.

TBH, reckon mine will now as well. I've moved house since last time we got snowed in and it's a bit less communal round here now.

At least got the sample pack thing to do.

starting tomorrow : ill do teleconference calls and translation service for business people, working for the local public phone service.. i have a little office box and everything.. neat stuff

before that : i was a college research assistant for 3 years (psychology and neurosciences), entering data in computers, sampling data, stuff like that... lame stuff... i got bored

besides that im a tour guide ... which is neat too... if u ever get to work in the tourism business... its a lot of money, in short time + it helps u see things differently (+ i get to use my laptop in my hotel room to tweak basses and stuff)

off to bed, work in 5 hours
