I feel most people who moan about brostep are the ones who try so hard but cant replicate their idols, so they get frustrated and go on these forums and moan about how 'basic' the sub genre is despite the fact they cant even do it themselves. Instead of giving the producers praise they go and attack them saying their bass sounds are recycled, or their drums arnt good enough. The simple fact is some people need to stop bitching to spend more time on their production skills rather than the forums. No offence Jay but i dont think you have a leg to stand on judging by your tracks man, you cant hate on the bro-step scene when your own bro-step doesn't even match up to the standard! Ahh dear, if you dont like it, produce somthing else man, work your frustrations into somthing usefull by maybe giving up replicating and making your OWN sounds, dont waste your time making waste threads like this one. Dubstep doesnt have to be 'bro-step', 'deep' or 'chilled', there's so many different sounds out there....better still, make your own!
Its not all bad, but some of it is just sooo, sooo bad.
My comment was aimed at the, first sentence and a half. Did i misunderstand that part, did he mean cant replicate their idols in general, or their idols in Brostep?Basic A wrote:No, this, best post of thread.Echoi wrote:Thats, bollocks mate, the majority of people who moan about 'Brostep' generally hate the sound, especially those god awful screechy whiney ones that seem to have the same effect as running your finger nails down a chalk board.corpu5 wrote:jaydot wrote:Your twisting my point there mate. But, unfortunately, doesnt apply to Jaydot, corpu5 was right there.
Right.Basic A wrote:he was saying that jaydot was being hypocritical because he writes formulatic brostep, and is bitching.
You were saying not everyone who jokes about brostep is like jaydot, whcih is good to be noted.
If that's true then thats fine man, i dont really lurk the forums as much as i used to, im just saying i've seen a fair few people in the past blasting bro-step producers and their techniques, whilst having soundcloud signatures of their very own bro-step? They say stuff like 'im not gonna make mid range any more its lame' and lo and behold a month later they have a new soundcloud signature and it's the same old same old mid range stuff that doesnt even touch the likes of datsik or whoever. You're definitely right, the distinction being made was simply that those individuals don't make up 100% of the "brostep hate" crowd.corpu5 wrote:If that's true then thats fine man, i dont really lurk the forums as much as i used to, im just saying i've seen a fair few people in the past blasting bro-step producers and their techniques, whilst having soundcloud signatures of their very own bro-step? Like Echoi said, it's not necessarily all bad, but far too much of it is focused simply on obnoxious screeches rather than subby, intersting music.

DubbaJohnny makes some good stuff. Sounds all relatively the same... but his basses are nice. I think massive is the cause of all this "broness"Johnst wrote:therook wrote:My god that is terrible. 0:57 made me chuckle a bit. Sounds like a screaming women or something lol.Phigure wrote:

and yeah, i used to be like, "OMGZ ukf dubstep is ALL I NEEEED", then i thought, "wait... are these all the same song?"
yes, i happen to really like the style he has. the cracks remix is pretty sweet...Kes-Es wrote:If we're talking about UKF, I don't care how he rinses his formula, Flux pavilion is pretty sick. Sound design is really all very simple too so there's less "GOMG" factor over his tech and more GOMG factor that he's writing real music, something that can be said for few others in that scene.
