hey boss. you do need some help :)

first, w dubstep, there are no rules as to what you need.

Logically, you will probably need a DAW (digital-audio workstation, i believe) to write your tunes in. alot of sounds in dubstep are made (or adjusted) using tools found in pretty much any DAW.

examples of these are Fruity Loops, Reason, Ableton, Sony Acid Pro, etc etc.

if you have a mac, your best bet would be protools (imo).

you can make dubstep exclusively using one of these programs, if you buy them (which all of us totally did) they vary in price from 100$ to 500$.

if you are looking for a more organic experience (i use the term loosely) you can pick up a keyboard/synth or similar product to help you make your 'chunes. its a good idea to make sure whatever you buy is "MIDI" compatible. in a nutshell this means you can connect your device literally to the DAW and record things you play into it, use tools from the computer on the sounds the keyboard/snyth makes. this is probably a good direction to start, you should be able to develope an idea of what you need from there once you actually get started.

p.s, these guys are awesome there is probably a bunch of tutorials around better than the shit i just typed up

Maybe there is some sort of heavy underground reggae scene you're unaware of?
