anyone like the mpd over the padkontrol?
was just curious, i'm looking to purchase one or the other. was initially leaning towards the Padkontrol, as everyone seems to say the pads are way nicer than akai's, but the mpd's durability, rotaries, faders, note repeat/swing functions were also a consideration.
I also planned on snagging a Launchpad for controlling ableton (they're going for cheap on ebay at the moment), and a keyboard controller - I was prbably gonna grab the Novation Remote Sl Compact 25 key http://www.imuso.co.uk/images/Legacy/Pr ... T00725.jpg (off topic - anyone have experience with these?)
So at least there's 8 rotaries on that, I'm not too sure if I"d need the Mpd's additional knobs over the padkontrol.
Did anyone actually like the Mpd over the Padkontrol, or is there no question I should just get the PK?

Yeah the MPD pads are known to be shit, but if your not afraid of opening it up to do this mod http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZViS288WH4 I would say go for the MPD.
But of you already have a controller with transports and knobs and faders I would say get the PK.
I was very happy with my PK but not enough knobs and no transports kinda pissed me off. The xy pad is pretty sweet, although I dident use it much once the novelty wore off. I have never used an MPD tho.

are the faders on the nanokontrol not ridiculously small? how well do they integrate with live or do they both require some tinkering. its pretty annoying, i wanna make my own audio interface. just one killer device and no mix and match bullshit! i'd have 32 sick pads, 8 faders, 8 rotaries, x-y pad, swing, note repeat and arp, transport buttons, track select (ableton) all finished with a rizla dispenser and roach roller. all for a ton. any buyers?

MPD. no issue w/ the pads (and i'm a drummer). far more useful.
jason from eoto's the only person i can think of who's using a padKontrol... tho he does most of his stuff on a lemur.

Unless you can practically think of a use for the PadKontrol's XY touch pad, I'd go for the MPD.
