@Rmonik: first off, good structuring of the song! that’s a tough part of making music that you’ve started off ahead in. now, i didn’t much go for the chord progression. it wasn’t my kind of thing with the sort of polka feel either. and the synths need work. i would suggest reading the production bible many many times, looking up any terms you don’t know, watching youtube tutorials, reading tutorials, and all that good stuff. also, of course, just keep working at it! you’ve got some basics of synthesis and you’re structuring well so far, so just read everything you can and try to apply it. keep it up man!

@ratrace: nice use of the stereo field, i had fun listening to this on headphones. i think that in terms of the bass it’s a little bit too extreme, maybe try and lessen that a little bit. is your sub distorted? it sounds like it might be a bit too crunchy for my taste, but i like the super low and clean subs, so that’s purely a matter of opinion. also, i could have used some more drums, but again, i just like those syncopated rhythms. very nice synth for the melody though, and the melody is really nice. also, i’m loving the pads, they give fill out the tune really well. and the use of the delay on that one cymbal when it drops is super cool. good work man, keep it up! :4:

@nonXero: the intro was well well done, but it lasts too long for me. the drop is super dark, it’s got a really cool vibe, but i think you need to clear some space for the drums, they sound really good but they’re lost behind the bass. :D

@Aez: very dark, i like the bass that sounds like something about to eat you lol :5: . i liked the melody, fits well. i’m listenin to this on headphones, and the eating bass sounds like it’s suuuper wide. i’m completely confused as to whether i like it or not, it’s damn interesting though! very cool use of different basses, and a nice little change up in the drums at around 2:40.

this is my newest. i didn't really go for brosteppy kinda stuff, it's half time dnb and it's supposed to be kinda funky, but i think it's just sort of odd... haha but let me know what you think, any comments are appreciated, thanks in advance! :W:

Hello all! :) New here and new to the dubstep scene, I just finished my first dubstep track and i'd love to get some feedback on it! Be as harsh as you want, all i ask is for some constructive feedback! It is kinda experimental/downstepish..

Finished track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMMt0tpJW_U
And this is something that iam currently working on: http://www.speedyshare.com/files/25553777/Newdub1.wav

Cheers!

@ Johnst. Really cool synth, as you said it is funky! The whole track got a kinda jungle oldschool feeling, which i like alot. I might be mistaken but i get that feeling. Trippy track indeed, good work!

Sample + FX + my own kicks/snares added to it. I was in a Burial phase, trying to get the sound he did with El B’s stuff, to get that rolling pattern in the background, but it wound up sounding pretty good without being hi-passed so I left it, added some punch and clicks, moved ahead with the tune...

@Johnst I really like this song. A mix of how its arranged and the sounds in it just sound really good and original to me.

@3za Another song that I really like. I really like that filthy sounding crazy synth. I've never really heard anything like that before in dubstep. The only two bad things about it are it gets a bit to quiet in the middle section compared to the rest of the song and I can't download it.

@hutyluty I think its a pretty okay song considering I don't really like the more relaxed side of dubstep compared the the dirtier kind. The one thing you should fix is that weird annoying noise in it. It sounded cool at first but it kept on going away and coming back and it kind of ruined the song for me.

Well anyways this is my first full dubstep song.

@Kinsky the kick is to powerful try adding some compression to it , and a limiter , also cut 50hz from the wobble and 10hz from the kick(at the low end) so that the wobble will not intervene with the kick. cheers

@RatRaceProducing - Really feeling this man! Great job! If I really have to say something it's that the trancy synth or whatever it is, is all over the song and maybe a bit too much. But still a great tune!

@+3 - The second one is really awesome. Can see the resemblance to Burial.

@3za - The track sounds good but those electronic buzzes get to me. A bit too much and harsh and seems annoying. Maybe it's not just my type... Those sounds aside, track is ok but feeling the need of a louder sub if there is any.

@Aez - DUDE! Scares the shit out of me. That really low wobble sounds like a fucking zombie! Really liking this! Great tune!

Check out my latest one in my sig. It's another drumstep.

@Johnst Indeed very funky and trippy. I like it a lot
@+3 Very relaxing, can def hear the Burial in there! Could you hit me up with a download? (I listened to the 2nd track, i think it's in your signature)
@kidstrange The intro with the snare honestly kind of made me expect something pretty lame. But this is really good! Is it just me or is there some very sneaky panning on that sub? If not than it's even cooler to me haha!

And thanks for your comments guys, I was indeed going for something dark!
Soundcloud
Here's a tune i made a pretty long time ago, it's also pretty dark but it's more minimal.

I had the intro quite powerful and full at first but then it got slightly repetitive and left no variations. I then took the approach of "a little bit goes a long way" on this track here, which seemed to work out for the best. As for the sneaky pan yes, i absolutely love panning its going to be in alot of my work. Thanks

@your tune must agree its very dark and really great tho keep at it for sure

This one is in my sig but im pretty sure this one i done. I keep going back and forth and changing things which im afraid eventually its going to get worse.

@kidstrange, i know how that is! The track does sound complete to me, its got a good groove to it when its rolling and has loads of bass weight!
Sometimes its just best to move on, and start the next masterpiece!
@Aez, Liked all your fx especially the watery one! The track had a great atmosphere, the only thing i did think was that you could have given the drums
a bit more variation.
@RatRaceProducing, Liked the vibe of your tune, nice and musical :D
@ilv1, excellents wobbles, very nutty! try putting more fx on them next time and you will have nailed it!
@Hypefiend the drums sound dope! just gotta work on the wobbles sound, like i said to ilv1 rhythm's good just gotta work on its sound.

I Just finished my remix of Commix / Satelite Type 2, It ended up sounding Deep. Any thoughts dsf crew?!
