Pinch has been a significant presence in the dubstep scene as founder of the Tectonic label. Releasing big artists such as Loefah, Skream, Benga, Digital Mystikz and Joker together with his own productions, Tectonic quickly grew to become known as one of the most reliable labels alongside Hyperdub, DMZ and Tempa.
With outstanding releases on his own label, he also managed to get signed on the legandary Planet Mu label with one of the best and most distinctive dubstep records ever made named 'Qawwali'.
'Qawwali' paved the way for Underwater Dancehall, his debut album. Underwater Dancehall stands up as one of the most coherent, sophisticated and satisfying dancefloor-derived albums of the noughties, and as far as dubstep LP’s go, it’s perhaps second only to Burial’s brace in terms of vision, ambition and virtuoso execution.

Imagine a head-on collision between soundsystem shaking sub bass, freestyle rhythms, moody chords and unusual sampling tactics… or just forget about it. The music of 2562 aka A Made Up Sound – Dutchman Dave Huismans, the number representing his former zipcode in The Hague, keeps surprising techno and bass music fiends right because it escapes categorizing.
Pacey and futuristic bass transmissions such as ‘Kameleon’, ‘Techno Dread’, ‘Flashback’ and ‘Dinosaur’, released on Pinch’s highly respected Tectonic label, found their way onto the decks of everyone from Kode9, Mary Anne Hobbs, Modeselektor and Benji B to veterans Anthony Shake Shakir, Francois K, DJ Bone and Pole.

Synkro is a dubstep/2-step producer and DJ based in Manchester, UK. He has releases on Med School, Z-Audio, Smokin Sessions, On The Edge and Mindset. He describes his music as being deep and bass-driven, fitting neatly in line with Burial and Pangaea.
Productions from Synkro contain some fine and deep post-2-step gear with the tried and tested formula of emotive vocal slices peppered over sharp 2-step rhythms and nestled in blue midnight atmospherics.

SCHAAM !!! Op de verantwoordelijke van de technische installatie !
Pinch heeft nog maar net zijn 2de heerlijk zwoele track opgezet, wanneer de spelers bigtime haperen.
Dag opbouw en sfeer, hallo DJ-vernedering en amateurisme.
De storingen zijn trouwens niet bij 1 keer gebleven.
Zeer spijtige zaak dat er niet is kunnen genoten worden van de kracht van Pinch's subtiele opbouw..
Gelukkig ging dankzij een weergaloze platenkeuze wat mij betreft, toch nog een paar keer het dak eraf !

Volgende keer beter

Het was een zeer spijtige samenloop van omstandigheden, het podium waar de decks opstonden, is gwn niet gemaakt voor op te draaien.
Dat ding geeft trillingen door dat het niet meer proper is. Normaal staan die extra subs er niet dus het was een risico om ze daar te plaatsen.
We hebben zeer zachte kussens onder de decks geplaatst maar dat heeft niet genoeg geholpen.
Verder wist de lightjockey/geluidstechnieker (van de Ritz zelf) bitter weinig over het geluid.
Ik vroeg hem om alles onder de 40Hz weg te halen en hij zei dat het onmogelijk was o.O
Pinch heeft daardoor idd niet voluit kunnen gaan wat zéér spijtig is, maar de volgende keer komt het geluid in orde, no worries.
Twas een pijnlijke maar wijze les.
