Women and Dubstep/Grime
I don't know what your line of work is, you're entitled to your own opinion but you don't need to get rude.
I play the game. People in this industry will know how much of a hustle it is to survive I only write about stuff I like because life's too short. And you may think my writing is weak, but if that was the case I don't think I'd be in print so frequently.

"Why yes Perceval! And indeed I have here a letter bearing the personal seal of the Duke of Widderminster to that very effect! I am presuming that the old braggard has finally come to his senses and had the good wit to pull his -not inconsiderable - weight into this Dubsteppe of late..."

"I have been very much disinclined to do so, Gravious, my dear fellow, as far removed from your fair statement as it may have seemed initially. For it would appear that, upon my absence shooting cocks in Nauplia, The Duke Of Widdeminster, to whom I am very much indebted spiritually and, as I fret to say it, sexually, has burdened himself with this rather belated and not unsurprising reappearance. I hope that my return has prompted a fairer trial for our dear Fiddy."

wow!
all i wanna say is that as long as the music is good, whether made by man or gyal, then its bless!
also, the vibe in dubstep is probably the best around - friendly, no front - everyone there is there for the music. bein a girl, i really rate that even though you know you're outnumbered by the guys, you know that you wont get loads of hassle because of it - its pretty annoyin when you go to some hip hop or grime nights and cant enjoy yourself because there are certain guys who literally only care about linkin and wont leave you alone.
but on the other hand, it sometimes annoys me when the airy fairy flowery tunes are dedicated to the ladies - we like aggy bass face music jus as much!

LOL...more *bears*? Then this would be quite a different scene altogether....boy's club fo'real....spooKs wrote: what we really need is a larger men to bears ratio, i feel more bears at the dances would really bring fresh attitudes to the sound, there would be no halfstep (the beats would all be considerably more terrorcore-esque), and the wobbles would only occur in the hihats.

Quite frankly there's a lack of women in grime and dubstep because of pricks like you. Constantly being called groupies or having to 'prove' themselves... I've got my degree in journalism and I've got to a point in my career where people like you and your petty comments, however grating, mean little when I look at my bank balance and get support from people who actually matter.
Allow trying it with her, she's merking.

I just wanted to big up some of my girls in the dubstep scene so there's short interview profiles with: Letty, Dot & Subeena, Georgie C, Mary Anne, Misoh & Arorah. Many apologies to anyone i've missed out; I did ask around a lot. I didnt include US ppl just cuz the feature ran too big as it is. Not sure when it will be out but will post up here when it is.
