fuck it, soonish (someone annoy me till i do) annoy me on posting a breaking down a sound to recreate post for my blog ;)
i need to buy dragon so i can do articles quicker -w-, years of net typing and punctuation have spoiled my proper writing skills
as i said before i love talking shop, just not to the point for lazy people (not an accusation at OP) i just hate people who want a very specific sound known to a certain producer vs the technique and knowledge to recreate it yourself

Yeah i know but what i was saying that regardless of the sound that you should at least try everything you can at first to get what you want from the sound, even if it's not identical but to at least get the sonic elements that attracted you to it in the first place.

sampling from within your own genre is musical tsecni and just plain lazy
it's also a quick way to piss off a shitload of people within your own scene

The guys asking for a preset, thats plain lazy lol. He's not asking to re-create it, he wants it in hand, without any dog work.

At the very least you can take that and gain some understanding of a particular sound, which always opens new doors for you, production wise. Go back to the first time you figured out how to make a proper wobble, as simple as it was, it opened a lot of doors for advancement in the sound you want to make.
yeah but like i like the sounds made by my favourite producer, but i would never want a preset or a way of replicating the sound exactly, as then i would be using their sound, i would feel like a cheat, and i would never be better than them, as they are always gonna be ahead in the game. however if you try to recreate their sound, or just create a similar sound, then you arent using their sound, but can get the same feel as their sound and then it is your OWN sound. trying to create a sound you like but failing means you can then get your own sounds.

yeah i agree with all this.
plus i always feel that i cant properly take the credit or feel satisfied with a track if the ingredients are not fully mine.
Even with certain remixes i'd go to the bother of remaking some of the sounds from the original to suit my own taste.

True, but that's not to say that he'll get all the processing that comes with it from just a .ksd file.
And he said he'd trade presets for it, which seems fair if the quality is good.

i'll play the devil's advocate
you can learn from a preset
also if you're preset dependant or always riding a popular producers jock, it's pretty obvious sound wise when everything you make is generic and non original sounds with no innovation
while it may lead to some short term popularity, no one remembers those producers for the long haul, let alone a career in a scene

I will post on how I get a similar sound because I am a nice guy. Using massive
In this case you would use 3 massives.

1 for high end
1 for mid
1 for low

High end.....2 saws detuned around -12 and +12. add formant to both. Choose formant carefully to your desire.

Mids 3 saws/square one at 2 at -12 and one at -24....add chorus to your liking

Low - 1 sine sub

Keep in mind its all to your ear.....if you want the wobbles add it to your liking. I tend to add other things to the highs and mids for some movements like Notch filters and what unison....

hope that helps

I'd like to note that I also am a advid user of Thor and Malstreom. I actually use thor for my Mids on this sound but Massive should be able to work as well

A lot of people claim to know how to make that noise so I thought, if someone can send me a preset then I will repay them by giving them 20ish Datsik/Excision/Skrillex/Downlink, etc, presets from my NI Massive preset library.

Well, you got a patch, albeit in graphical representation as opposed to .KSD format.

Make with the basses
