Reason 5 Sampling from internal output (speakers)

Post by Syza » Wed Dec 22, 2010 9:35 pm

I've had a look on the forum to see if this has already been addressed.. I'm having trouble getting Reason to record the output of my system, for example iTunes or something on the Internet, but already know that I need to download a internal driver for my soundcard to make this happen. As I don't want to purchase this externally, on a Mac you can download Soundflower which is the perfect application; allowing you to set it as the stereo output, however for PC the closest I've found is a Virtual Audio Cable (VAC) and have been unsuccessful in getting it to work in the Reason audio preferences. Has anyone found a solution to this problem other than purchasing an external soundcard?

Thanks in advance,

Syza :)

Check Audacity;

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

You'll need to select the StereoMix option from the recording source menu, top right of the interface. If you want to then save from Audacity as an MP3, you'll need to install the additional codec;

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/fa ... m=lame-mp3

Not sure you can do that on Mac. I've tried and there's no option for it.

Audio Hijack works fine and the demo lasts for about 4minutes before it produces white noise so that should be plenty of time.

OP wanted a PC option, not a Mac.
