Dubstep isn't dying, and I completely doubt it's losing it's momentum. It actually seems to be getting bigger here in the states recently. Of course it took a lot longer for it to even get here, so that's probably why.
I think it's just waiting for the next big thing. A lot of electronic music genres tend to start to feel stagnant after awhile, but it usually makes a return just when it starts to have that feeling. I think it really just comes down to the perception of the individual listener.
yeah, in terms of dubstep as it was when it started, its losing momentum cos that sound isn't really new or exciting as much anymore. its begun to morph into something else which is just as exciting and new as dubstep was when it first broke. its a progression so it doesn't matter, theres always something to replace everything. the only people who are bothered are the ones who missed it the first time round.
one day people will ask if the style of music thats emerging at the moment is dead and it probably will be cos there will be something else. dubstep is by no means the be all and end all. in fact, if you compare it to UKG and jungle, its a bit weak really. the most exciting thing it has done is spark a whole new wave of interest in electronic music and as a result of this relatively weak trend there's more people interested in 'underground' electronic music than there ever has been.

i think its definately at the saturation/purists point at least for brostep.
I think brostep sould finally find a non derogatory name (dubcore cause its hardcore dubstep?) so I can stop calling it as such
I might soon have to 'invest' (like the stock market) in what I predict the dubstep splinter to really take off will be and start producing in/attempting to inovate that genre
I'm thinking its gonna be drumstep/glitch-hop

My band is gonna start making "dubcore" music. But we were more of taking a post-hardcore band and then putting in some dubstep.
Also, as far as I have seen, dubstep is just getting going here where I am. Which is North Carolina. So I think it's just gonna get bigger. At least here in the states.

The new wave of Fidget House is going to be the next big thing. The new wave of Fidget House used to be a bit more... underground and non - tacky before jack beats/skrillex came along. Yea skrillex is gonna kill 2 genres at once. i can see the purist fidgeterssereres getting pissed off with JB & skrillex.
