1. is there a way to get rid automation you have made in fl, im using fl 5 and when i automate something like say a volume knob then delete the automation bar and in the sequencer as well it still automates, it drives me mad having to go back a save and redo a bunch of other stuff
2. would the latest version of FL be more or less demanding on my pc or about the same? thinking of getting the latest version but my pc is quite old so im not sure

Re: 2 FL questions
I have no experience pre FL 8 but there should be an automation folder in the sidebar that lets you manage any automation in the track so far (Then again I'm not even sure if there's a sidebar in FL 5)
If FL 5 works for you then keep going with it, imo you should think about an upgrade. If you bounce everything to audio a lot you're CPU shouldn't suffer too much (check your pc meets the system requirements just to make sure) I would consider an upgrade just to get PDC in 9.1 +

1. not sure how 5 works never used it.
2. I have found when I have updated, the newer versions use just a teeny tiny bit more cpu.

whats pdc? and well i get along with 5 but i assume the later version has either new or upgraded features plus reading from dnb forum alot people were saying they really like the fl parametric eq 2 for eq'ing which i was surprised at cause i was under the impression that fl fx were rubbish but still just looking at options

Re: 2 FL questions
Not all of their native effect plugs are bad. Some are definitely horrendous, but it's got a few gems in there. The great thing about FL 9 is that it has support for multiple core processor now, which before it lacked, which could actually end up hurting you if you have an old PC. I get a lot more out of fl 9 compared to even fl 8 simply because of the changes to how it handles memory. I would suggest at least trying it just to see what happens.Troglodyte wrote:whats pdc? and well i get along with 5 but i assume the later version has either new or upgraded features plus reading from dnb forum alot people were saying they really like the fl parametric eq 2 for eq'ing which i was surprised at cause i was under the impression that fl fx were rubbish but still just looking at options
As for the automation, there's no reason it should still be automating if you have deleted the actual automation channel, unless you recorded the automation into the pattern. If I remember correctly, automation was handled pretty much the same way it is now, and hasn't really been changed all that much, if at all, over the last 4-5 versions. The only other thing I can think of would be if you are using a bugged beta version and it's causing it to not actually delete the automation.
Re: 2 FL questions
I've had the same problem with the automation, and the only thing that worked for me was to, put the parameter in the position you want it to stay at, and then create another automation clip. Basically it's just recording over the last automation you made.
Wwoooooooiiiiiiiii
Re: 2 FL questions
right click volume click edit events, make sure its all blank... then after you delete the automation clip i think you need to wiggle the volume knob again a couple times to disconnect it from the automation.
if you have an automation and you change the setting while its playing it stops playing off the automation clip until you click on the automation clip again so that might be something to do with it
good luck
