Does This Qualify as "Dubstep" ?? [tune in 7/8 tim

Post by moosed » Wed Apr 04, 2007 6:55 am

Ez, im not that familiar with dubstep as a genre, i know burial, boxcutter, distance and thats about it. anyway...i was working on a downtempo tune and added some kicks and now im thinking it maybe sounds like dubstep ?

i was hoping some dubstep heads could let me know if it qualifys as being called dubstep. i know that sounds stupid but there is a reason for asking...

heres the linkage

cant say that it is in the conventional sense, but it is certainly sounding really nice!. just keep doing what u think fink sounds nice, dont worry about the dj's etc. boxcutter obviously didn't and ppl like his sound coz it's creative.

That's a great song! Make it a full length song and you're real smooth.

I tried making a song in 7/8 but I gave up in frustration because I got confused while trying to quantize it. I respect what you did.

I wish more people would make stuff in other meters. It's stylish when people make it happen right.

Heck, that could be a whole new subgenre : downtempo/dubstep/with 7 beats. They could name the genre after you :D

( or call it dubDown7 )
