How DO YOU produce your music?

Post by LetsGoBlues91 » Tue Jan 04, 2011 5:43 am

I personally use Ableton Suite 8.2.

I haven't been doing this for long, but my method has been to create a sample for each part (whether it be bassline, drums, etc...) and once I have them all hit record on the APC 20 and just play it through.

What is your method?

Find a generic pop song (preferably La Roux)
Increase/decrease bpm to 140
filter out the original drums/snare/bass
add a kick on the 1st and snare on the 3rd
add some WAWAWAWABLURGHBLURGHBLURGHWOBWOBWOB mid range, transformer noises and minimal sub bass.
Spam on facebook, Youtube and post constant threads on DSF

Cha-Ching. Youre a full blown DUB step producer.

In all seriousness the production forum is probs the best way to head for that sorter question tho.

It's all about the EQ. You know, you can make a track just be EQ'ing the EQ? There'll be so much of nothing you won't know what to do with it!

I like the suggestions going on in here, so fresh.

What i personally like to do is stand very still, bolt up right, legs tight together and eyes closed for around 60 seconds.

Then raise my index and middle fingers on each hand slowly towards my temples.

Once those fingers have made contact with my temples, i then proceed to feed my music into peoples brains straight from mine.

I normally tend to do this in old peoples homes, in the middle of busy city streets at 8am, Greggs bakeries, places like that.
