Decks: go for Technics SL-1210/1200. MK2s are fine MK5Gs if you have a lot of money. Other makes make good decks too but technics very easy to get 2nd hand - do not settle for shit decks.slanguage wrote: but i don't know what mixer to get...i got told xone is the best way to go...is this true? and do you all think that's a good set up so far?
DVS: Serato or Traktor Scratch Pro pretty similar really, down to preference - if I was you i would stick to vinly though
Mixer: Ecler Nuo, Allen & Heath XONE, Formula Sound, Urei or Rane if you want nice sound, others also like pioneer but I don't. Any thing with 2 channels, 3 band EQ and volume faders will do to get started and you can always upgrade later!
Stylus: Orfton Pro s or Stanton 500s entry level, Sure White Labels or Orfton Concordes for mid level.
Speakers: I'd go for just some good hi fi speakers (stands if there bookshelf style) and an amp. If you want to produce aswell get some monitors Mackie and Yamaha make some nice mid-level ones. Alesis or KRK for cheaper ones.
