Gemini CDMP 6000 issues? Just got it, please help :(

Post by ewokmyweewok » Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:05 am

So my Gemini CDMP 6000 finally got here, I got it off of eBay from a trusted seller for $314.

So I plugged it in, turned it on both decks light up red, but then the left deck goes blank and the right stays lit red. I tried using CDs and a USB and it won't read either one on the left or right deck.

In this video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlQ_3XYrrTM

As you see @ 7:24, it loads up and says "GeminiDJ, and then says "CDMP 6000" shortly after. However mine just says "GeminiDJ" the entire time, it never gets to "CDMP 6000".

Do I have a bad machine? Or am I missing something here. This is my first system so please don't be a dick and just help me out.

Yeah, I put the CD in but it doesn't even attempt to say it's reading it, I hear it spinning but I'm not sure if it eventually stops or not.

Could be damaged in transit, im not familiar with the machine so dont take anything i say as gospel, could be something easy, but seeing as theyre not doing the same thing, it souns a bit sus to me.

Yeah, nothing. Like I said, when that guy turned his on it said "GeminiDJ" and then went right to a "CDMP 6000" reading.. Mine just says and stays at saying "GeminiDJ" on both decks.

Also, when I first turn on the system, both decks like up red, but after about a second or so, the left deck stops lighting up red, but the right deck stays red.

I don't think this has anything to do with RCA cables either, I tried booting it with and without cables connected and it's the same thing.. Unless I'm connecting cables incorrectly.

:?
It shouldnt have anything to do with the cables if your doing the same for both, and getting a different reaction from each one like youve said.
Try asking on a gemini forum. Or taking it into a sound and light/dj sorta shop ting. Sorry i couldnt be any real help. Good luck bruv! :Q:
