For our first party of 2011, we're proud to present a long overdue Crazylegs debut for Loefah, a key figure in defining the early sound of dubstep through his groundbreakingly physical productions as part of the DMZ collective. Since the relative diffusion of the sound, Loefah has managed to stay one step ahead of his peers by releasing stunningly futuristic house variations through his Swamp81 imprint. We don’t need to tell you how excited we are to bring such an influential and enigmatic character to the Basement.
In support, we bring back Hessle Audio boss and Rinse FM star Ben UFO, an astonishingly skilled selector whose almost unmatched arsenal of dubplates has seen him cement his status as one of the principal tastemakers on the UK underground. We also welcome Jam City, a man proclaimed as ‘one of the most exciting prospects in house music’ by FACT Magazine and whose recent ‘Magic Drops’ EP on Night Slugs combines the most thrilling elements of classic grime and future leaning production in a package that surges through dancefloors like a torrent of molten lead:
