Re: Problem with sub on massive
Just one question, are you using an LFO anywhere on the sub?
Might be clashing with other noises if you didn't give it enough headroom.

Re: Problem with sub on massive
it could be loads of things. did you make the patch yourself? if you have two oscillators slightly detuned then itll do that. or if youve got any of the lfos routed to pretty much anything itll prob do that. or envelopes.
if its a sub, just start from scratch. start with a sine or something and go from there. at least youll know whats going on with the ptch.

Thanks, nope, no lfo on it, or chorus or anything it's a plain....
For the head room, i tried to play the sub by it self and the same stuff is happening....

Re: Problem with sub on massive
Probably a stupid question, but what are you using as your sub, ie are you using a single sine wave, or a different waveform? Also, if you are using all 3 oscillators are they all tuned to each other (ie. one is at -12 and the other is at -24). I seem to remember having the same situation when I tried to color my sub with a bit of the magyr wavetable. Also, if you are using the dimension expander this will happen as well.
Last question, when you say it varies does it vary between notes or does it vary when you hold out a note? And when it varies are both the left and right channel changing at the same level?

Re: Problem with sub on massive
ok, sorry for the sh...t post, i had restarted my patches from the start and it do not seem to happen, i still don't know what for....
Nope it's was a sine square and i switched off the osc just for check...No dimension expander...
I don't know how to tell, i recorded the midi from my keyboard, adjusted the velocity, then on the playback the db of the sub was going up on some note but ramdomly kind i was pusking the master fader or something....

Why you're using massive for sub, I'll never know.

Yeah, usually it's Operator all the way!arktrix wrote:Why you're using massive for sub, I'll never know.

Re: Problem with sub on massive
i dont see the difference to be honest. Massive registers on an analyzer the same as operator does where low frequencies are concerned.

It's a matter of keeping the project cpu friendly. Massive drains it like a bitch.narrator wrote:i dont see the difference to be honest. Massive registers on an analyzer the same as operator does where low frequencies are concerned.
Well was it a square or a sine...?meam wrote:Nope it's was a sine square and i switched off the osc just for check...No dimension expander...

Re: Problem with sub on massive
if youv got fl just use 3xosc, its small but brilliant for subs.

longshot, but go to the global settings tab and turn off external sync, you'll have to set the bpm manually though if you're lfoing
Should've chosen a manlier name

Re: Problem with sub on massive
half asleep - you have any filters on this patch? You don't need any filters. Turn that off, turn the eq off. If you want a rock steady heavy sub bass, just keep it simple. Sine and an amp envelop, end of story.
If you wanna play a bit, go for it, but your sub might be jumping. You can, of course, deal with that after the fact so long as your sub is rendered out to it's own audio channel.
