I just listened to the Mt Eden album...

Post by VirtualMark » Sun Jan 09, 2011 8:56 pm

i can see why everyone hates them now. :(

The remix of Prodigy - Omen, the same music with a halftime beat and a wobble slapped on it.

The remix of Delirium/Sarah McLachlan - Silence, the same epic vocals of the original, with a halftime beat and the same wobble slapped over it.

Track 3 Pharoahe Monch - a remix of Simon Says, but its just got the catchy bit with an amen slapped over it.

Theres also Madonna - Frozen, which again has the same beat and wobble. It sounds like a sodding massive preset or something!

I do like Sierra Leone and Still Alive, probably because i haven't heard the originals... just really disappointed to hear the rest of their stuff.

Lol, this reminds me of talking to some one through MSN.. I was like "Hey, you should listen to some Dubstep!" .. This was after I discovered it, I thought it was amazing..

He goes "I have, listen to this: " And sends me a damn link to Mt Eden on Youtube....

XD.. Well, some people like Mt Eden, can't kill them for it. I enjoy Skrillex, so whatever.

The original sierra leones by freshly ground, who had something to do with last years world cup song or something, and their version is called I'd Like for all those who are interested, once you hear that, you'll hate mt.eden more for ruining that song.

Sierra Leone is the greatest travesty to ever befall the world of music.

Beautiful song.

On a side note, 13 remixes?? Have they considered trying to write one of their own songs ever?? and have they got clearance to release all of those? I doubt it. Someone report them?

Pretty sure they actually are signed by Breakbeat Kaos. The production forum probably isn't the place for this though you are right. Unless this is a "how not to do" thread -r-

LOL J/K

Nah, they need to be shunned purely for their "remixes" of Archangel and Saeglopur, anyway.

You're joking right? The dubstep version is awesome, i perfer it to the boring original. I like electronic music, and definitely prefer the version with a beat and a bassline.

The point i was making was that they use the same beat and the same wobble on all their tracks, doesn't seem like they've put a lot of effort into the sound design.

So if you take any song that isn't electronic and add 'a beat and a bassline' it instantly makes it better? no matter how bad that beat and bassline are? get real. It's not the fact that they've done a dubstep remix of that song. I like a wobbly bassline as much as the next guy and that song had heaps of potential to be turned into a great remix but the production quality on their tunes is horrendous and they butchered it 0.o

" doesn't seem like they've put a lot of effort into the sound design." - understatement of the century?

Anyone who likes Mt Eden clearly knows nothing about production *or* music and should just go home and listen to the chart show.

Ok, let me rephrase that... Don't bitch about mods if you ain't going to take 5 seconds to report threads, and help them.

You have the time to make replies in this thread about the mods locking it, but you don't have the time to report it???
