No it's because you only need to feed some signal into the feedback at first to get it working. However after a while massive will make no sound so i leave the noise generator up just a little.

Chewie - as a result of this thread and this tutorial - I started on my own path after the feedback routing - and I have created one of the phattest, most dancefloor-friendly bass I've created to date, makes me happy just thinking about it. I also have a new-found respect for massive - my playing before was so limited.
