Worked on this today, lemme know what you guys think
(some of you might have heard another tune by me with this name before. That one is now 'Gengar' and this is actually gonna be 'Charmander')
Soundcloud
@Jack a tron - Pretty decent. I like the ideas and it sounds very old school which I like. Mixdown let it down and the track didn't 'gel' very well. Didn't feel very smooth and weren't any decent hooks to really keep me interested. Not a bad attempt overall but not great.
@Akkep - Felt very amateur to me. Hated that kick sound and the mixdown was really poor. Not really much to say about this one. I mean there's barely anything going on and the things that *are* there don't sound good. Sorry :\
@D0do - This is more like it. The melodies in the intro are cool but when the bass drops I'd have liked them to go away for a while just to keep things fresh. Mixdown isn't *great* but it isn't bad either. Seems like a very rough early addition of a track but what you have so far is definitely promising. Flesh it out, make it longer and polish the mixdown and it will sound saweeeeet.
@Hoppa - Firstly, the reason we have the feedback threads is because, as you can see, the forum would be totally inundated with people spamming their tunes if we didn't and it wouldn't be a production forum any more. If you want a whole thread dedicated to your tunes you can start one in the subforum 'Dubs' rather than 'Production' which is what your in now. This forum is really for producers to discuss software/hardware, techniques and tricks and the like. Hope that clears that up for you

As for your track, I'm liking the vibes it's got going on. Feels quite basic but some nice ideas. Snare is way too quiet, as are a few other things. Sounds like it was made on a hi fi that lacked low end response so you've over compensated leaving you with a mix that sounds a bit clumsy on my speakers?? Are you using monitors or hi fi, or god forbid, headphones? Song construction is probably the strongest point, that and all the elements feel like they come from the same song. Which might not sound like much of a compliment but believe me it is, a LOT of tracks posted here feel like bits from 10 different songs all jumbled together.
