amen :ukking:
Which begs the question: who put more into the track? Britney or her Producer (obviously)...and who's making more money off of it......
I think you might have to learn about how major labels work cuz!

Britney is just a vocalist, a great one at that...
which producer do you mean?

(beat maker) producer- would have been paid for the tune right out.
britney - will make whatever percentage is set in her contract for sales & performances
songwriter - will get paid royalty fees for each public performance & sale.
(executive) producer - will be on a salary
label - makes betwwen 10% - 40% of the total.

all depending on the contracts, so what I wrote is subjective as.

whatever, still people would buy this kind of tunes...there will never be a lack of it.

personnaly, what makes me laugh are the lyrics (hold it against me), isn't it a Groucho Marx's catchphrase?

I'm just pointing out that she's (along with her label) cashing in on the underground. I wouldn't call that proper respect.

Just my opinion though.
So go get pissed @ the members of Magnetic Man instead.

I don't know if I'd compare Benga and Skream (producers that have done a lot for the genre) to Britney Spears cashing in on a trend.

I was just making fun of her because she doesn't produce her own beats, which to me..shows a lack of artistic integrity.

And I do understand how labels work. I understand that she's only a small part of this....it was kind of what I was getting at.

Didn't mean to hate on your beloved Britney. I'll just stfu.

Didn't know so many people would get uppity instead of just laughing along.

People are uppity because these threads always go from a joke to the same shit. These discussions are waste, i mean what's the threshold between a sellout/mainstream/whoever makes more money than you artist and the underground? It's all sour grapes, who gives a fuck, lets just continue the lulz.

Ok, well I just intended it as a light-hearted joke...I didn't know there was so much animosity here regarding such jokes, so yeah. Sorry to anyone I offended.

Glad I got a couple of laughs....

Happy producing.

Britney Spears... cashing on... on a trend like dubstep....
Come on now. Dubstep's getting fucking big...
But I can NOT see this as her trying cash in on it.

That was a sample. I think it was replayed for the Britney track, but it's note for note a Bollywood sample.
