Massive isn't a synthesiser. It's an over-hyped pretension generator.

That's not entirely true. There are some guys making some amazing stuff with it. Unfortunately - about 99% of users aren't.

I take my bass from a Korg Monotron. Not even joking.

Sampled into Alchemy and mangled.

If you want to sample a really nice clean sine wave for sub bass you can get a sample of a filter self oscillating...then lowpass the shriek out and you're left with tasty bass warmth. :5:

I got one recently to do the same thing, haven't tried sampling it yet though, just messing about with it has been more than slightly addictive.

I just meant for it to be a toy....but it had much bigger plans.

I've already used it for the lead solo on my WIP.

The synth part is addictive enough, but when you route your favourite tracks through the Monotron aux in, and play with the filter (with or without LFO) it's game over: 'Sorry sweety, I'm not ready for bed yet....'

Massive is very cold and mechanical - as much as I love its routing, I cannot bring mysel fto use it as I can never get the warmth I find using plugins like Sylenth1. If I had a Virus, I'd use that.
Imo, sylenth1 is the most irritating vsti I've ever used haha

sub= 3xOsc
Mid=3xOsc, and recently I''ve been using massive
stabs= WASP all the way!
oooh interesting. Why do you find it irritating?
The shit I have to do to get what I want, before we get on one of those sly dissing competitions about who's better, I openly admit that I'm a noob, and frankly, you telling me why you like it won't make me switch, I'm stubborn
Do you say zerbaman? Or do you say zebraman?

You made quite a few assumptions there. haha

I was just interested in why :) I can't make it do some things as well - but that's because I don't have a good enough grasp on synthesis yet. However, for subs/low mids - I fucking love it. Haven't found that kind of warmth elsewhere. Also it's filters are beautiful.

808 booms and albino 3. yuuppppp. Sometimes 3xosc if I'm feeling some gameboy sounding basses.
A conglomeration of my old tearout tunes I like, and my new ones I don't
