The whole thread is bragging. It's basically "I need to make sure everyone knows how good my taste in music is".

Some people just have more money than you. It's a fact of life.

^^^

yea thats pretty much spot on

i would also agree with any comment along the lines of

''no way, this is just a thread people use to show what type of music they're into!''

and i'd be 50/50 on whether i'd buy

''nah this is a thread where people can show they still buy and appreciate certain artists works, whilst keeping vinyl aliiiiiive''

but i'd call BS on

''if someone irl asked you what records you'd just bought you simply wouldn't tell them because they'd think you were showing off''

that's how i see most "what are you listening to" threads

i think it's helpful to post non-dubstep purchases here, so people see you have an appreciation for other genres, and maybe to see who to go to if someone has questions.

if I see certain people have bought certain records and post them on here and I havent heard them its useful...also if there is a release iv been waiting on but forget on release day and see someone has bought it on here its a good reminder... doesnt have to be about bragging

That doesn't mean whoever posted them wasn't doing it to show off their taste in music. It just means you found some use in it.

But i agree with that too. I usually just think of this thread as a "celebration of vinyl" (sounds so corny, but couldnt think of anything else to call it) and it is interesting to see what people are buying though, sometimes discovering new tunes.

Tell me about it. This was the first. I asked one of the guys who works in the electronica section for any used dubstep vinyls, he said he has a Zomby for $2.99. I thought it was a single at first, and when he came back, I almost peed myself in excitement when I saw that it was the EP for $2.99 total. Then, I proceeded to ask for any DMZ (used or new), and he mentioned Coki's new album. I said, 'how about 7?', and he said, 'Haunted?', and began to laugh out really loud :corncry:. Then told me to go on Discogs cos that's where he bought his for $100.

anyone who paid $100 for dmz007 shouldn't be a dubstep "buyer"

Bahahaha... surprised they even knew about DMZ. peeps at the amoeba I go to are pretty much clueless.

oh, and I feel your pain about 007... really considering saving up a few hundred and completing my dmz collection

Trust me, I refuse to go above $30. By that, the chances of me owning one is slim, but I refuse to pay too much for records.

BTW, big up on your tunes. :W:
