JUNGLISTS

Post by snypadub » Tue Jan 18, 2011 1:33 pm

Anyone know a good place to buy digital jungle tunes by the truck load for the cheapest price. I basically am looking for about 100 obscure older tunes for the cheapest price. Looking forward to hearing your suggestions.

its a bitch innit? especially for the obscure stuff!

generally ive found them dotted about, dont think any online store has made the decision to start doing jungle properly.

drum n bass arena has some good stuff though

Got a few decent ones from juno earlier :corndance:

Put together this mix with tunes I hadn't heard in years. Really fun to mix it although it feels really odd mixing digital jungle tunes.

really? i'm not so sure. jungle vinyl is super expensive and i found that the majority of things were in a poor condition. and there's not many people playing the old stuff other.

for instance this is a classic, never heard it in anyone elses mixes and i got a 320 off dnb arena. you cant even find this on vinyl anymore (its on a rare CD single version of limb by limb which alone sets you back £40) and any version that you did buy would be too precious to use in a normal dj way.

stick to the digital mate.

edit: found the vinyl for £40 or £70, both very good +

Is there a classified section on this forum? I have a buttload of old dnb rekkids from 96-02 that I would like to sell. I just don't know if there is a used market for old vinyl these days. PM if you want to see the list.

compared to the amount of jungle on vinyl, there's hardly any available digitally. Go discogs or ebay for older stuff and if u want nu skool/ragga type stuff on vinyl check out toolbox, outerbound or redeye. most people who are into jungle atm still prefer to mix on vinyl. check out some producers on soundcloud like vocoda, pastaman, dub liner, kid lib, sheffield junglist alliance, 16 armed jack, jungle syndicate, stivs, twinhooker, baby demo. sometimes theyre nice enough to send you 320's ;)

you are more than welcome. More to come Im working on an hour long set but want to get the tracklist spot on. That one was litterally my first play with those new tunes I got. Just ordered a few cheap cd's with one or two good unmixed tracks on and will be hitting juno again later. Keep your eyes peeled.

have you got the jungle mania and jungle hits comps? theyre a gold mine. all unmixed and stuff.

theres a 6 disc box set called "essential drum n bass" that i got off amazon for a couple of quid. its full of good dnb/jungle stuff. just as the changeover was happening. some bangers in there!

@laurent: idk about buying old jungle recs, im lucky enough (or unlucky) to be old enough to have quite a collection, especially if I borrow from a certain buddy

i was just saying that when i think of the shit i like to play, only the classics are really available digitally.... if you're ever in seattle zion's gate has an upstairs room packed to the ceiling with old jungle records. diggers paradise :D

also what obscure tracks are you looking for? i notice from your mix that its the less ragga stuff you're playing.

this is the 6 CD comp i was talking about
