@ Traffikz
nice sample work in the intro ! love the subbass .. Clean wobbly chops ! Very fun and energetic track !

@ ninthy4
the intro reminds me of the band 'screw'... oh nice drop ! percusion is well balanced and the structure is powerful. nice developement of parts into the breakdowns. Great bass patches too.. not too sharp and just the right amount of subbass. Are you using a separate subbass layer by chance ?

@ cibiia
definitely one for the club dj's ! big ups on the sample work. nice breakdown and drop !
big room bass !

Ok so here's the final version of my "first" dubstep tune ( actually dubstep vs dnb ) .. I've been producing psytrance for 7 years and started this predator project to experiment with all the sick Massive and Albino bass programming. ( my psytrance stuff for anyone interested in that too > http://soundcloud.com/dragon-darkpsy )

Thanks for listening !!!

Predator: Those bass sounds are haunting man. Love how sparse you make those drums too. I think the tamborine sticks out in the mix like a peado in a primary school, but other than that this mix is spot on mate. Love the variations in there keeping it interesting too. 1:50!!! :O that is genius. Really cleverly done. Sounding pro.

Coughdropz: Pretty well mixed to be fair. Maybe give the whole thing less mids and more bass cus the mix gets a tad crowded, but I love your ideas here man.

Ninthy4: Those vocal samples work brilliantly. To be honest mate, everything you ever do is bang on the money for filth. Production sounds absolutely pro, bass sounds are sick but not too in your face, drums are perfect, synths rest underneath perfectly. Best tune i've heard in a while.

Ok so this was my entry into the 48hr tune battle. Truth be told, I finished it in about 14 hours after the start time, so worked about 5 hours in total on it.

Also, it varies quite a bit as you go through, so give this one a chance aye, not just the first 24 seconds.

Peace :m:

-Debaser: hehe imo you should've entered with this tune, it's proper good. I personally love the rolling sound after .41 , sounding nice and crisp over all, all i could say is add some more atmos elements

-Predator: pretty good for your first dubstep track, I'd say give those basses more power, fullness, they kinda sound empty to. Drumwise you can hear you used to make psytrance, doesn't mean thats a bad thing i like the change :) Keep on going

-coughdrops : the blank by skism? :/

My new track, just finished off:

In defence of coughdrops, he's a good friend mine and does mashups at the moment. Says he's moving onto beatmaking soon though.

With the vocal of this track saying "with you, still" I've tried to emulate an emotion of being away from a loved one in the physical form but still being with them emotionally. Bilocation - to be in more than location at once.

The track is supposed to take you on an emotional mental journey, a trail of thought whilst thinking about a loved one you're not currently with. It starts at a low point, reaches a climax during a fond memory and then back down into a low. Get pissed, turn your lights off, turn your stereo up and cotch.

I haven't really limited the track too hard because I value the dynamics of this track a lot more than other tracks I have made (there is a LOT of dynamic automation to help aid the journey), therefore the track will seem quiet if you don't turn it up a lot more than you usually would for EDM stuff.

Please note: This is a 3 minute clip of the original track (the original is around 6 minutes).

Hope you enjoy.

@Debaser...gosh, away from my computer for one second and i start getting attacked pahahaha! but yeh, shoulda said really...
@reignz...sorry bout that man, yeh, i'm just mixing and blendin atm... i reckon dubstep needs to make a major breakthrough into the main rooms in clubs before it's gonna make a full takeover and i'm more tryin to get an opinon on whether banging a grime tune on a filthy beat is making it any more likely cos of the catchy vox...didn't mean to cause any confusion!

@ wirez - i like how the vocals sitting in the mix sounds good as - good work

@ pixelatique - it sound nice and clean but if you had a punchy kick and even a punchy snare it would sound sick... would be able to feel the whole vibe real well

@ Debaser1 - sounds good i like the bit at 2.18 sounds sick

First time ive finished a track let me know what you think

@wirez
I'm not much into the deep/minimal dubstep but damn dude... Amazing vibe, such a great track...

@ninthy4
Great stuff, wasn't much into the vocals on the 1st track but liked everything else!

@debaser1
Nice vibe on your stuff, original, and mixed down well. A good 'predator' skank out haha!

@predator-dubstep
Thought the kick sat a little outa the mix, just my opinion there though (tis what differentiates us as producers and makes us unique :)). Interesting tempo changes and such, very original as well. Great work!

brain drips: could use more sounds in the beginning. the higher synth sound is cool but you've got space for more different sounds to fill in. if you don't wanna do that, you could automate some effects on the existing synth. the mid to end section is very nice, good stereo mix. i like mixes with a lot of stuff in them

wamp wamp: aahhh, such good memories of this song. again, i would just have things switch up more so its a little less predictable.

@Kaza

i'm not really into filthy stuff, but you obviously know what you're doing. both tracks in your sig are heavy, well-mixed, got nice touches to them. i cant really give u any advice except keep doing u :W: but thats a good thing. oh just saw that they're getting released, well done brotha.

@hyperian: love a good expanded mix, fuck compression! :cornlol: the melody thats mixed into the drop (that make sense?) feels a little strange to me, it adds some tension to the whole thing though. i like the southern hip hop style drum rolls, kinda Girl Unit-esque.

@Traffikz: kinda funny if you don't mind me saying so, but you pull it off nicely, the sounds match the sample in a nice way. humor is good when you're making drop-oriented stuff, it plays with people's expectations. i like how you cut between so many different sounds and make it unpredictable, it sounds professional

@ninthy4: whoa. thats some evil, evil shit. nice drums, there's actually some funk to it which must have been hard to do considering the beat is so plodding, but the hi-hats make it dancefloor capable. :5:

@Cibiia: good snare selection, feel like the kick doesn't match it super well though. ones real wet and big and the others very minimal, but i probably wouldn't notice if they weren't isolated at the beginning of the song. nice choice of acapella, it does its job well in the song. the build up to the drop is well done, not all filter sweeps up but actually has some melody to it.

@coughdrops: dubstep that actually sounds like dub? who would've thought! this is my fav track i've listened to so far. the horn sample(?) is great, makes me nostalgic. i like how u hold off on a drop until 2 minutes in, you get the sense the track is gonna go one way but then it goes another without sounding out of place at all. and i don't even like dizzee rascal, so you must have done a great job.

alright, i put a good amount of effort into those so i hope somebody actually listens to my tracks. I got 2 in my sig that i could use some comments on. The first one's on sort of a Mount Kimbie tip, the second's a pretty chilled hip hop thing. Heavy Air is the one I'd really like some advice on.

oh and I wrote my comments in textedit first, so if autocorrect did anything weird (it changes fav to cigarette for instance) i apologize in advance :4:
ok i gave real feedback on 8 tracks and only got one response :( so im reposting, please give me some feedback on the two tracks in my sig, especially Heavy Air. much love, don't mean to sound grouchy. and if i didnt give u feedback yet, i will if u show me some love. :W:

edit: thank you coughdropz for the love!
