I'm too anal about refining my ideas.. that said, I'll have a go!

Good luck everyone.

If you finish more than you normally do in a month, than I think I would class that as a success. Just go for it imo.abZ wrote:Yeah I know. Tbh I would be extatic if I finished a 4 song EP. Hell I'd be happy if I made one good tune in February. I like the challenge tho.3za wrote:Thats what they say this year, but I see it as more of a guide line, than set in stone rule.abZ wrote:Wait that's in the rules, 14 tracks? That's kinda crazy tbh. I couldn't do 14 unless they were pretty short and sucked. I could defo do it but it would be a snooze fest.

I'd say that's precisely the point.3za wrote: If you finish more than you normally do in a month, than I think I would class that as a success. Just go for it imo.

How is everyone going to approach this???
I'm thinking on the first of feb (if I got the whole day free) to lock myself away in the studio, and try to start at least 3 track, with some skin, and bones to them. See If I can finish one the first day. Then try to soldier on making a few wips, a day, and try to finish at least one wip a day.
So yeah, my plan is to go at it full force, that way if I don't meet my own targets, I might meet the targets that have been set.
Also im playing on making composition, my main focus, for a few reasons;
1. It seems to be the main focus with this event.
2. I don't get bogged down with mixdown.
3. I don't end up with a polished load of nothing.
4. I can go back, and improve tracks, after this is over.
Sound design while be a close seconds, as it's the thing I love most about making music.
I going to try put in 4+ hours a day, and on some day try to do 12+. I reckon I could do that, I make stuff every day as it is now, and put in about 1-12 hours a day, a few months ago I had a day were I did not do any thing to do withmaking music, and it felt weird. atm I normal can find 2-4 hours in the day for music.
also I am thinking, of abstaining from making music for the last week of this month. to get my idea tank full, but that could be hard, because i'm addicted to making music...
Anyone doing a concept album? or got any other interesting plans?
