Headphone Help!
Hey guys, I just got a new pair of headphones, the KOSS ur29s. If I hold them against my head the bass is INSANE, but when I don't, the bass is still there, just way less, is there a way to make the headphones tighter so I can hear the bass better?

Re: Headphone Help!
Get different headphones.
Why do you need so much bass anyways?
Try a DJ phone like the pioneer hdj-500 or 2000.
I just got a pair of hdj-500s from pioneer (did an interview for djsounds.com - my friend I think pitched in and got them or something) and the bass is really high (AKA the mids and highs are low) - but for monitoring I would prefer something like the AKG k-240 which has relatively clear high end (flatter response) and accessible high end and a better soundstage. I also like the sennhieser HD series phones for carry around listening. I have the HD202s which are defo an HD phone and not suitable for mixing. Even the AKGs I don't trust the mix on - never had a phone I liked mixing on and would trust.
Good luck!!

Everyone seems unhappy with those KOSS phones too:

Re: Headphone Help!
Personally, I love the sound, but I don't have the money to buy 100 dollar and up headphones. I just need it to hold against my head tighter, because I don't really want to take these back.

Has anyone checked out those krk headphones its my bday soon and ive just broke my sennheisers. I checked their site and theyve got 2 models. The more expensive ones sound like the ones to go for (kns 8400). Just wondering if anyones heard anything good or bad or any suggestions for alternatives around £150???

Re: Headphone Help!
I was checking those out too a while ago, but heard mixed things about them (8400s), the thing that put me of is that they seem to have quite harsh hi&mids and are somewhat fatiguing. I eventually went with the beyer dt990 pro (open back), which are in the same price range. But you gotta ask yourself if you want open or closed back. If you plan on recording things then go for closed back, if just for production/mixing at the studio where there is no noise, get open back. If you also want them for general listening and bringing them outside i'd also recommend closed ones.benjaminC wrote:Threadjack

Re: Headphone Help!
Nice 1 project EX they seem to be one of the best at that price.
Re: Headphone Help!
Moving the speakers closer to your head is not a good move. Why not just turn them up?
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
