REGGAE ROOMS PRESENTS FUTUREBASS

Post by The Roots Brothers » Thu Jan 27, 2011 4:03 pm

Reggae Rooms takes a minute to present a night called Future Bass.

Here Reggae Rooms looks to use the evening to chart the links between roots reggae, dubstep, and hip-hop. Roots Brothers explain this concept as an attempt to draw in those listeners of dubstep who might not have encountered the tuff stepping riddims and bass of the more modern UK steppa sound or the classic deep roll of those revival greats by Dennis Brown and others. Similarly it highlights the link between hip hop (which musically started with the legendary block parties thrown by Kool Herc a Jamaican soundboy who brought his selection style with him from the garrisons and outdoor dances of Kingston Jamaica) and roots music.

Reggae Rooms hope to show the Trinity between these music forms during this event - Inity is the key all good people must come forward so H.I.M SelassieI say.

Dropping bombs at this 4th February event Reggae Rooms has Upside Hi-Fi bringing steadfast revival reggae and tough UK steppers roots reggae, local dubstep overlords Magic Mash pushing out dubstep and fractured basslines to test the new rig a plenty, and The Roots Brothers showcasing a selection of white labels and dubplates sourced from some of the premier UK soundsystems mashing down Babylon right now, BendyMan bringing the golden age hip-hop and showing us the links between those early block parties in the 70's and dancehall culture and SamWise7 selecting upfull roots reggae and classic dubs of yesteryear from his extensive library of 7inch soundbwoy killas.

Door tax is £6 on the door or £5 in advance and is held at The Boileroom, Stokenfields, Guildford, GU1
