I exchanged a few tracks with him. I never saw all the apparent DSF drama but he seemed like a good guypompende wrote:this is the guy that "pioneered" "thugstep" "mashups." He matched hiphop acapellas over dubstep riddims. There was some discontent about him sharing the results. He was a bit angry and would occasionally bait people (myself included, sadly) into arguments. glad you didnt let that shit drive you off nappy. peace.

Re: an apology to this forum
i was putting southern rap vocals on top of original productions easily 6 months before he came on the scene, i had several bigger names playing them (joe nice, nick argon, clandestine crew) and he sent me a link to some video saying he was the first one to do it and he pioneered rap vocals on top of dubstep blah blah blah. his statement of "dubstep is party music" really bugged me too.pompende wrote:this is the guy that "pioneered" "thugstep" "mashups." I know there were a few people that did thugstep blends before me. The dude south3rn on the dubstep forum made some quality stuff right around the time I started, but nobody made 100 refixes in a few months or named it anything besides ‘dubstep refix’ to my knowledge. Who knew it would blow up under that name?"

DJ Nappy has good beats, but he's pretty stupid. Just becuase it has rap vocals doesn't mean its "thugstep."
