Aye, after I thought about it, DJ Hero is too much like a game. I am going to take Traktor along that I know how to bodge around with, and I am going to download Serato and play around with that. The next problem is how do I stop two dozern kids from mashing my laptop to bits with their grubby fingers :s

cheep controller.. mixtrack? solid unit for $150.. also give them the whole feel of spinning things..
or an LPD 8.. so they can play tracks and mess with effects.. you could also load up something like reason and load up samples that can be triggered on the LPD.. maybe assign a page to effects, a page to samples, a page for basic functions, then whatever you want on last page.

for what you want traktor would work fine. Just give em some instructions on how to mix first. To all the people thinking you can install the program, start up, load some music and mix seemlessly and perfect the first time.. You defo wont. Part from the fact traktor's analysis isnt always on point, theres more than just beatmatching before you can dj. If you havent got a clue when to start in a tune it wont drop on the moment you want it to and your mix will obviously sound like shit.
Good luck with it though! Great idea :w:

I am going to delay it by a week and get a cheap mixtrack off ebay, I'll take the money from petty cash. Instead of spending it on coffee and biscuits they can put it to something more useful :)

Thanks for all the advice n help, much clearer idea of how to go about it now, thanks.
