It's insanely popular up north.

Can't help but think it's just barbarian noises everytime. And I know alot of people think of dnb the same way but I just can't help it. To me dnb has something those don't have.

Do people not understand the idea of listening to 'barbarian noises' for that very reason? I want to go scatty and lose my shit and be totally overwhelmed by intense noise.
I like very little 'happy' or 'nice' music. That would probably be my submission, nice music with no balls.
Lots of hardcore is all about atmosphere. What's nothing but pounding barbaric noises to some is actually very atmospheric, dark music that progresses rather subtly per tune. The hard kicks do nothing but tie it all together.
Possibly my favorite straight up hardcore tune. Great atmosphere. I can write some intricate tunes with messed up drums, but can't for the live of me write something like this.
As for breakcore. There's hard, distorted pounding and dark stuff like this:
And more clean and melodic stuff like this:
And both have high production value. Though production value doesn't really matter, either.
That and there's the being overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of it all.
There's no such thing as 'too chaotic' or 'too fast'.
Urm....
Happy Hardcore...all that type of Hardcore..hardstyle, gabba etc...
Hardcore, Death metal etc...
The majority of Breakcore I don't get...Some Venetian Snares (and a few others) is good, but the majority is just noisy and angry and goes over my head.
Trance.
Crap 'indie-rock'. You can't dance to it as it has no logical rhythm, you can't sing a long to it as the majority is just bland and samey, and I've never once felt excited after hearing one Indie song.
I think that's a bout it...I open to all music...but they are the ones that stand out as not appealing to my ears.
p.s. what the blazes actually is 'Donk'
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn

There is a little documentary from Vice about Donk. It's quite ammusing and you should check it out... it's bad.
Anyway, I can't do psytrance at all. I have a group of out of town friends that love it and I've gone to some events with them. I understand it's supposed to be trippy and deep...
BUT A WHOLE SET OF IT!
I understand the power of repetition, but that shit just kills me. And the only way to dance to it is waddle and flap your arms like a synchronized duck.
A psy-duck....
