Just a few mixes with cubase 5. Bass Heavy fo sho
Hey guys
I'm new to the boards, just got cubase 5 as a christmas present. I've been dickin around with it and decided to do a couple mixes. If your interested in a listen check out my latest here:
http://soundcloud.com/reindeer/its-called-bass
I'd be more than happy if you could give me some feedback, i.e. which transitions need work, tips/tricks, better ways to do things.
Also, I'm working on developing my own sound and arranging a few tracks, I'll update everyone once I've put one or two together. My hope is to one day be among the names of dubstep greats. Little lofty I know, but I'm confident if I put the time and effort in I could achieve my goal
Cheers and, please, be honest with me. I'd much rather get constructive criticism than "oh, nice bruv" or "meh"

I know you guys must get a lot of newbies on the scene, but dubstep is a passion of mine. I'm both a fan and, hopefully, soon a recognizable figure.
Any feedback is good feedback as far as I'm concerned, I'm eager to get better.
Currently working on another mix, here's an older one to tide you over until then:

Many thanks,
Cheers.

Re: Just a few mixes with cubase 5. Bass Heavy fo sho
So guys...
Just worked my ass of for 7 hours on another mix here, a 140 bpm with no tempo transitions. It's almost all dubstep, with a few rap/hip-hop elements.
Hopefully you all like it, but what i'm looking for more than that is some feedback. I know it's tedious to listen to a newbies mix. If you could do that I'd be grateful, i'm needing some tips on how to smooth over transitions. If theres something that i could do (or am not using correctly) i'd love to know about it.

Peace out dudes!

7 hours to do a 32 minute mix? Get some turntables or CDJ's man...
Seriously though, how do you propose to be a 'dubstep great' if you build your mixes in Cubase as appose to mixing live?
Just sying...

Re: Just a few mixes with cubase 5. Bass Heavy fo sho
Hmm, thanks....
Well this is all I can do for right now. Would you rather hear me mix with virtual DJ? Yeah, screw that noise. I have a few dubstep vinyls and I'm currently saving money for some tech 12's.
Hopefully I didn't come across like that, I've just started. Fuck man, this has pretty much been my life since christmas, am I don't think I'm bad at all for having no experience. I just use what I have.
Welp. I guess that helped motivate me to get my hardware... Anyone with constructive criticism?
Cheers.

I didn't mean to piss on your bonfire
It's a good concept, and will no doubt help you learn song structure and alike...
Get saving for those 1210's!
