IF YOU'RE GOING TO GET A LAWYER MAKE IT A MUSIC LAWYER because then they'll know the ins and outs, generally a run-of-the-mill professional won't know enough because they're trained in wills, divorce etc...

Don't get me wrong, I like amilli but what could you copyright from this type of beat, the drum pattern? Because he obviously uses samples (maybe he sampled it himself but in this case its a boom kick and layered clap/snares) and there is obviously no melody that you could write down, just thinking....

this can't be emphasized enough...the higher up you go in the business the more snakes there are! Anyone releasing tunes for profit should have legal advice and counsel from the get-go, and always make sure you understand your contracts 100%. And never trust anyone's word no matter how close they are, get a signature if you have a deal...
