okay... WTF is nuendo?

Post by filthy_ » Sat Feb 05, 2011 4:45 pm

on their website, steinberg makes it seem as its post-processing software and ive read on here that its basically cubase but with a $1000 dollar price tag :corntard: someone please explain to me the major differences.

reason:

i messed about with cubase on my cousins computer and i really liked it. not as much as i like my current DAW but, there were a few things i thought were great and that id like to take advantage of via. rewire. especially as im starting to experiment with bouncing midi to audio, chopping it up and doing all that fun stuff with it, i think people call it resampling :6:

now, if nuendo is basically the same thing as cubase with lots of shit for post-processing, than it seems reasonable and id definitely spend my money on it. im just trying to figure out what the fuck it is.

i need suggestions for this.

Hi there, Nuendo is Cubase (minus some "music related features") plus some audio post production (sound to picture)
features. (sync to external video decks, some editing modes specific to audio against picture etc), supposedly the flagship
Steinberg product

Thats the long and short of it.

I have used Nuendo for around 5 years now, I think I have used it for 2 reasons, occasionally I use the post
production features and I am not keen on the professional rep of Cubase in the industry, it seems to have a
somewhat "also ran" association. (probably largely unwarranted).

Steinberg is often criticised for it's rather odd product market placements.

cheers

It's a great program. mostly post production oriented bet very suited for music too. However it's a lot more expensive.

And does not handle OMF very well. Although PT's update should be better compatible...
