Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
Thanks alot for the previous feedback, learning alot from you guys
Jakedubber: Experimental and awesome stuff. I like the live drum'ing, there was perhaps a few too many snares in the pattern for my liking, but I love the sound and feel of it. That real instrument vibe. I think the spooky synthline did well to compliment the rest of the song. Also, the tune is never boring. Progressing in an interesting manner. Good job!
Last Trooper: I think the sound is a bit too "muddy". Would like to hear a better mixed and crisper version where the sounds arent drowning in one another. That said, I like the ideas and general trippyness of the song. Deep stuff
Cyberex: Mainstream vibe or not, that intro is sick! The part after the drop is also pretty awesome. I feel like that part lacks a little bass, but that might be my crappy monitors. I love the composition and sounds you've used throughout the entire tune, really.
HomeNoiseRecord: The overall sound quality is pretty much ace. I like those sub bass lines. Still love the synth melody that goes from 2.12 - 2.25, gives me kind of a pendulum vibe, (which ofc. is meant as a compliment). The synth is perhaps a bit too loud, again, might be my crappy monitors.
New WIP.. mainly just trying out some new stuff:

@Cyberex - intense! keep it up; i've no complaints so far
@jakedubber - kind of reminds me of bigbeat music; digging it ^^
this is a remix i'm working on of a song called Hubble by Actress

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
nibzdub- that drop in the intro is pretty nice I'm digging your bass. only complaint is at a few spots it gets a tad boring maybe just a few switch ups or something otherwise nice track man.
voodeedoo- like what you are doing here the bass is nice.
last trooper- your vocal samples made me laugh (in a good way) just because I wasn't expecting them. This is a pretty good tune get the mix down better and it will sound tons better. I know you are just experimenting but I think this is worth finishing
FRasch- realll nice tune overall as far as the melody being bland goes just a few small tweaks here and there to the pattern I think will help it. those drops are lovely
I decided to mix my two favorite things......Alpacas and brostep...
lol let me know what you guys think. I actually learned alot about alpacas while getting the samples lol

@last trooper - get up is a good piece. lots of cool ideas goin on and i like the variation. maybe make more of an emphesis on the drop with some bigger crash cymbols.
@cyberex - this is one of those tracks that just makes you feel good haha. really diggin the lfo rate changes after the drop. there’s definitely some nice flow goin on
@frasch - love the bass and snare drum they are sounding really tight in the mix. the synth melody is dope too!
@voodeedoo - nice nice deep vibez! the deep house sounds give it a bangin atmosphere
@nibzdub - creeeeepy track haha. i really like the solo bass automated build-ups. pretty straight forward track but its effective, big ups.
kind of hit a wall on this collab with the homie. any ideas????

@dubsax outlaw - that intro has a really nice and chilled sound but I feel it goes on a little long? but once it drops, the synth is just brutallllll <3
@coreygoesrawr - i feel like the synth needs some bulking up on this tune, but im loving the samples haha
@nibzdub - that face smasher track is biggggggg! any chance of a download?
First ever attempt at a track, go easy on me! It's unmixed at the moment because, without sounding like I'm thick, I have NO idea how to do a mixdown as of yet, all this "-3db" business just goes over my head. That being said, I'm hoping to get a little bit of feedback and response on this track.

Captain Planet- while I was mixing it the bass sounded much heavier >.<
I can't take a listen right now but as far as mixing goes read the mixing thread in the bible while you are in your DAW it will help you visualize what they are talking about. also you can youtube tutorials on it they help alot. Good luck.

@FRASCH: the tune is quite ok. i'm feeling the synths sounds. Maybe try to slow down the wobble that comes in at 2'50. Pretty heavy tune tho. Will try that one on the soundsystem.
@voondeedoo: Like the deep vibe. Maybe a bit more of glitch and 8bit effects. The mixdown is pretty cool.
@Nibzdub: Could do with more changes and breaks and maybe more dirt on the synths. Cool change at 1'12.
@CoreyGoesRawr: Like the grime influence. With some grime or hip hop lyrics could fit in i think.
@dubsax outlaw : Serious mixdown. Could do with a bit less of wobbles. Would like to ear the final tune.
I had some very useful advices the last time and i tried to fix some details on this tune.

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
Critical sound system: i like it, if anything its a bit repetitive. and the regea samples arent very original.
Dubsax outloaw: Very nice, cant say anything bad about it and or add any sugestions...just a sick track really.
corey goes raw: keep the intro the same but take out the alpaca sample during the bassline... i like it other wise.
ok my first post... sorry i didnt have much to add in the way of response to tracks as i am kinda new to producing and havnt really got any skills myself.
any way i made this yesterday and would like to know how im doin for a first year apprentice...thanks

Re: WORKS-IN-PROGRESS for February, 2011
psythe ive heard that exact synth somewhere but i cannot place my finger on it. but the yois after dont sound good at all.
travis baker i like it. i liked the movie too hah, but the way you used the clip i liked most get old and repititive nice work
critical drums are on point. really like those, the synth gets old after a while though, maybe its a little too distorted?

@dubsax outlaw - have to agree captain planet, its a pretty long intro lovin the drop though
@captain superman - f'in grimey sounds really enjoyed it, maybe try bringing the volume on your bass patches back a little bit when you export/record
@critical sound system - the drop could use rest in there somewhere for more build up, but other than that sick track, diggin that robotic feel
@pysthe - your clip is pretty innovative imo, its not what i would call "dubstep" but thats not really important just stick with what your goin for
i still have to bounce this back and add different "wobble speeds" but its pretty close to finished, just need some feed back for the last touches
