jesus christ dude its a JOKE. its funny because there is an awful lot of skrillex debate here but its also true that there continue to be a lot of great resources here. take 'er easy you dont need to immediately assume the worst.
It was a generality and something I had to get off my chest I guess.
It just fitted more with what you were saying so that is why I quoted it! No personal beef or offence meant man!

Well as for being a retard, guess I won't bother visiting this forum then aight?
Does me saying forums above a certain size become retard magnets mean I think everyone on here is a retard then? Pretty sure I seen some of the mods saying the same thing, you have seen the thread retard magnet right? Forums get so many members then you have too many different conflicting views floating about ppl taking offense at anything it all gets pretty retarded - that said however DSF has a way to go b4 that shit gets as bad as DNB Arena Dogs on acid etc

Its time consuming dealing with the fallout from actually expressing an opinion on here which is why many producers don't anymore they just advertise their latest release or mix etc which is pretty sensible tbh. This place has its moments and its an essential resource for anyone producing or djing but there are so many ppl fishing trying to wind up producers + the same old arguments going over and over again it get tedious
Yo, the retard thingie wasn't meant to be with the sentence above it :)
Oh btw when what you say (DsF becoming like that) I sure as hell won't be here any longer :) no hatred only love.
I agree some things get tedious, but you're missing out on a lot when you don't read all believe me, found the best tunes by reading shit topics :D

James Blake, if you read this. I don't think you've become whack. I love your album. And the indie kids will love it to. But that doesn't matter to me. :w: :w: .

the signal to noise ratio here on DSF does seem to be unusually LOW.

EDIT: i... was high.

DSF is a great place to find new music. Of course you have to look a little for the gold threads, but when you find one full of interesting names you haven't heard of yet, it's awesome:)

Regardless of what 'some' might think, DSF is an integral part of the global dubstep/music scene and long may it continue. Big up the DSF crew.

without a question, the biggest issue with site's like this one is that by virtue of scenes developing at the pace they have, the intimacy does change. so sharing an opinion with 200 people you know well, turns into sharing an opinion with thousands of people you don't. you could argue either side of that in terms of which is better or worse for a musician. support and camaraderie or exposure? everyone has to answer that themselves.

DSF MEMBERSHIP

ultimately, music forums will never make everyone happy. its impossible. never forget though, that sites like these nurture influences and the next thing, and the next thing. so for example, there's someone that heard tea leaf dancers, and was inspired by it to write their own track. someone that bought Contact, Love, Want Have.. is now influenced by that album, and probably here posting their tunes. someone that has been waiting for maybe years in a corner of this planet to hear flying lotus or ikonika, probably heard about them on a site like this one first, and will show up to the tourstop. for 5 years this site has made sure that the events sections were a top priority, because we all knew that this thing would grow organically, just as it has.

how many thousands of tunes inspired by burial have you heard on this site. literally hundreds in the dubs forum after untrue came out. is that a bad thing? is it ok to be influenced by burial?

is having a thread on this forum that tells you in detail, how to create sine waved sub bass a bad thing? only to those that are insecure about their creativity.

its not the tools that make the artist. its his/her creative statement that makes the artist.
Ah ok ok seen there's more to this than a producer having a moan about this forum listened to the interview properly now, seems like Flying Lotus is suggesting this be replaced with an elite forum or something? Some half baked idea anyway sounds like the weed in Cali is a bit too good! Pretty much every producer I know has moaned about DSF but its usually a love/hate thing most also appreciate the service it provides what its done for their careers and the hard work done by you and the other mods. DSF is a great resource for new producers, it can sometimes be a ballache for more established producers (thats all I was getting at) but yea of course this scene wouldn't exist without it whatever its problems

If he can't take criticism, he's a little girl.Oh wait, we already knew that (the twitter episode).

I don't like what he's released over the last year and that's my right as a listener. And I can voice that however I like. I've noticed that people over here are incredibly personally offended by statements criticising so-called 'established' producers. I don't know why.
All releases by 'recognised' producers can't be good. You should be able to voice some criticism. It's not a personal attack at you people for listening to it. You can enjoy all releases with or without questioning them, just don't expect everyone else to do so. And especially don't act like you've been personally kicked in the balls. It doesn't come over as particularly adult.

DSF has its negatives, but the positive far outweighs that.
Maybe it was wong to post that quote. But believe me, you don't have to say who's an adult and who isn't ! -q-
I also shout out my criticism.
No bad feelings Joeki, BIG up !

On topic, how many new artist came from this forum ? :i:
