Well it's been 1 whole year since Tropical first arrived at the Wire Club, and since then we've brought you the very best of the UK underground scene with names such as Oneman, Marcus Nasty, Roska, Girl Unit & Shortstuff just to name a few.
So for our 1st birthday party we thought we'd celebrate in style bringing our usual mixed bag of sounds that make the UK scene so unique. Expect to hear everything from House, Garage, UK Funky, Dancehall, Electro, Dubstep & Disco.
Pangaea first burst onto the dubstep scene with his 'Coiled EP' back in 2007. Since then he's gone onto release on Scuba's Hotflush imprint, feature on Commix's 'Re:Call to Mind' album and release dubstep anthems, "Memories", "Router" and "You & I", firmly establishing him as a key player in forward-thinking dance music. Watch out for his brand new EP set to drop any time soon on Hessle Audio, the label he co-runs with Ramadanman and Ben UFO.
Next we have a fantastic Leeds debut in the form of Boddika, also known as one half of Instra:Mental. As part of Instra:Mental Boddika pushed the sonic boundaries of the Drum & Bass genre and along with D Bridge they were responsible for the highly acclaimed Autonomic Podcasts and label. Now focusing on his solo work, Boddika's dark electro sound has become a staple part of a number of highly respected DJs, such as Oneman, Benji B & Loefah. And with releases already out on Naked Lunch and more to come on Darkestral & Loefah's Swamp81 label 2011 is already looking like a great year for this highly respected producer.
Much like Boddika, T.Williams rose up through the ranks as part of a duo (West London's Deep Teknologi) but it's his solo work that is really causing a stir. His rough and rugged take on the UK House sound has caught the ears of everyone from Kode 9, Cooly G & Buraka Som Sistema's J-Wow which has resulted in a release on the latter named Dj's Enchufada label along with releases on Local Action, Night Slugs & not forgetting his superb remix of one of 2010's biggest anthem, Breach's Fatherless, forthcoming on PTN.
Next up is Dublin born now Manchester based DJ/Producer Krystal Klear. Recently listed as one to watch for 2011 by FACT Magazine and resident at Manchester's highly respected Hoya:Hoya night this young man has been causing quite a stir with his boogie-house & funk productions.
Coming with his Funky Bashment sound we have Steakhouse Records' head honcho Dub Boy. He is regarded as many as Bristol's No.1 selector, and we are very much inclined to agree. Not only that but he was also a major player in the birth of the Dubstep scene in Bristol with his Ruffneck Diskotek being one of the first nights down there to showcase the sound.
Plus support from our resident DJs Jangle & Jera.
