Re: all feedback on mixdown appreciated
well ill comment since no one else has, to me this sounds like what a dubstep song would sound without the wobble lol not to be a smartass. i think this sounds pretty awesome but the wubz hardly noticeable sounds extremely instrumentalish. something heavy on top of this might be what it needs. good luck mate and keep up the good work
SoundcloudLOL I am just starting to use FL for dubstep and this is the only vid that showed me how to open Sytrus! Thanks, at least you helped me out.

@ Crutch - I'm not sure what you're talking about because this sounds fucking amazing on my speakers. Especially the bass. Sort of reminds me of Jack Sparrow only with the drums not being as hard and crisp, but then not many producers can do that. The only thing that's a little quiet I suppose is the melody, but I thought that was more of an artistic decision on your side to keep it in the background than a mastering issue.

Re: all feedback on mixdown appreciated
im on laptop speakers but what i hear is this
awesome picollo flute thing , make that maybe like 1 db hotter
compress the background stereo wobbles in the beginning and bring them up in the mix
maybe high cut the kick, make it more boomy and rounder, less boxyness
also compress or limit the periodical chime thing its a little hot in the mix
good track though, im more into the "bro" shit but this is interesting and has a good psychadelic feel with a little bar 9 or vex'd flavor. i dig.

hm... this is really a question of mixdown advice. i like the subtle wobbles but it's lacking low-end power. the drums, flutes, synths... they all fit together and sound good. it has a kinda 3dimensional feel with all the panned noises going on which i like too. the drum sounds are especially nice, they could use some more switching up every couple of bars though so it doesn't get monotonous.
now i can't give specific mixdown advice (except ADD SINEWAVE SUB
) but i highly reccomend reading the moneyshot thread answering all the mixdown questions you'll ever have (well kinda, just read it carefully and don't skip pages unless you miss someone else getting an answer to a question you'd ask otherwise)
big ups

i got a sine wave sub in there yo?! might need a boost however. have read that thread, goldmine, thanks anyway. to be really persific it was more a question of how the drums sat in the mix, i was thinking maybe the kick was too much but anyways. gonna get back on it soon.hasezwei wrote:hm... this is really a question of mixdown advice. i like the subtle wobbles but it's lacking low-end power. the drums, flutes, synths... they all fit together and sound good. it has a kinda 3dimensional feel with all the panned noises going on which i like too. the drum sounds are especially nice, they could use some more switching up every couple of bars though so it doesn't get monotonous.

This track is really good. On my system, it just sounds like the bass isn't loud enough. It'd be cool if that wobbly sub was a bit louder. Just my opinion though. This would rock a big system just the way it is. Nice work ^_^
