warping in Ableton 8

Post by Darkali » Wed Feb 16, 2011 8:53 pm

Hi, Hoping someone may have some advice on warping in Ableton

I'm trying to warp a 90bpm acapella to 140bpm for a Dubstep track, although having warped other acapella's previously without too much prob's this one really is causing me prob's, I just can't seem to stretch it without it turning too glitchy, I know that when you stretch to the extent of 50bpm there will be some glitch in the vocals however was hoping someone may have some tips or know of an effect etc that may help.

Thanks in advance

if you got complex warping on and you take the time to match the beats then you should be fine it just takes time. try setting an 8 bar loop and warping then then pressing the right arrow key to move it over 8 bars and work on those and continue until you get to the end of the song

it might be best to go down to 70 bpm half time. it wont sound as fucked up/chipmunky by going down only 20bpm. maybe only 15bpm. whatever. but ya, go to complex pro for your warping.

Putting it down to 70 wouldn't make it any easier to align the acapella
