The SNARE in this is the best snare drum Ive ever heard. How the hell do you make that!? So much low end and slap and mid range but it also sounds scooped. It's mind boggling.

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread
im pretty sure you need a foundation waveshape like a layer of saws and then and some res on a lowpass filter automate the filter to pull down and have a comb filter then use a vocal filterSub South wrote:Hello dsf, please help me recreate this mosta womp found at 1:08??

like im sure the tone 2 bifilter2 has a vowel filter so it gets that weird vocal effect
just make sure you remove bad harmonics haha!!

Hey guys, question about a building effect in SubFocus' remix of Hold on right before the drop
It starts at :10
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NI2b7qXUlnE
I just want to know how to make a synth that keeps rising like that cause the pitch bend only does so much.
Thanks

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread
pitch bend range is different on various synths so part of it is just synth selection, but the other part of it is having other automation and modulation that is adding to the rising effects. so lfos rates increasing on the rise, filter cutoffs sweeping up, etc.ajw wrote:Hey guys, question about a building effect in SubFocus' remix of Hold on right before the drop

if you listen to the top of that lfo'ish synth riser the last measure or so isnt increasing in pitch, its actually pegged at the top. which is the same issue you are having with running out of pitch bend range.
also layering risers of different types, say one white noise sweep, one more distinct synth patch pitch bending rise, and an lfo rate increasing riser all layered together with some automated reverb and filtersweep should give you the effect you are looking for. im guessing that you dont really care about that exact noise and that you are just looking for the same effect so hopefully thats of some use.

Re: The 'help me make this sound!' thread
Hey guys.
Burial.
I've noticed that his drums sound a little muffled and don't have an awful lot of high end.
Do you recon he's eq'd them that way or put some low pass filter around the top frequencies to get rid of the treble?
Also, I had a go at rendering my drum loop at 48kbps. Sounds crazy I know, but it automatically made them sound darker, more muffled etc..
Any way I can get that sound without loosing the quality?
Just wondered if anyone had any tips for me.
This is what I got so far:
Soundcloud
Cheers!

Whaats up dsf? :L
I was wondering how to create a replica to this sound:
It is found at.. 0:58 - 1:02 (the higher pitched one).
It can also be heard in: (at 1:00 and 1:02) :

So much respect if some one explains (details) how to make this sound.. or sends a massive patch.
Thank you
