Question about the subfocus tutorial.

Post by Phongs » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:26 am

So after watching the tutorial I found here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IK_j72MtTIA

I heard that sound at about 3:25 and decided to try to recreate it. I used the settings in massive that he had (2x triangles slightly detuned, etc.) but I'm still unable to come up with a similar sound. I was wondering if anyone could help me make the sound around 3:25 in the video, or if this had been gone over already and my searching wasn't good enough.. Any help is greatly appreciated, Thank you!

This isn't really so much a tutorial on how to make that sound, just a tutorial on a way to get a good reese sound in Massive. It won't sound the same because he doesn't show you what he uses to process the sounds and what effects he's put on them. You also don't really see what he's done with some of the other parameters.

He's modulated the pitch of the oscs with an envelope but you can't see what it looks like.. just experiment with different env shapes
