Hi!
First post here... Beginner with dubstep and started training producing a few months ago. Anyone know tips for a simple way to imitate the bass sound of Scorn or Meat Beat Manifesto?

Re: Scorn/Meat Beat bass?
first video is actually quite easy imo, I managed to get a similar sound through massive but it could probably be done through any fm synthesis... It's really only 2-3 detuned square waves, modulated through 1. a band reject with a fairly tight bandwidth and positioned fairly high up the frequencys so it cuts out the midrange but leavings a few high freq grit and modulating bass, OR 2. A lowpass, layered with the exact same bass modulate on top passed through a very tight bandpass. Add slight distortion/flange/fm modulation to liking.
The essence of the first bass is essentially 2 detuned square waves though.
