I dont understand the arguement against feedback on free downloads... its up to the artist if they want to give it away free, why cant they have feedback on these tracks too?
Im thinking that professionally a label cant do anything with a track you've already given away. (id like to belive that a a label would be interested in you as an artist but perhaps thats the way it is)

No one said they can't have feedback on their tracks, but I don't think it would be right for this. It's the demo panel, would you send a track you have given away for free to a lable?
If you give all your music away for free, why not make a new track just for this, and give it your all.
But as far as im aware, this is purely for feedback from pro's/industry vet's etc, not to get a record deal? or am i just misunderstanding this...
If it is for people looking to get songs signed then fair enough, i understand the no free tracks rule.

Excellent edit Medik!
Submission thread will be opening today, so I hope y'all got your beat weapons ready.
I make music as Forsaken, you can DL all my unreleased (and a couple released) bits here.

But if its up for free download wont people already have downloaded your half-finished non-feedbacked tune? Why not wait until you get the feedback, fix your track and then let people download it? Seems to make a bit more sense.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget.

I posted but there's no way I could compete with some of the tracks in there.

No competing and we won't just select the best tracks each month to go through!

ah thats alright then, id feel sorry for everyone else because my track would be getting feedback every month! hahah nahhh i kid lads, so much talent on these forums!!!
oh and Pete, quick question, when you say the people who post feedback more are more likely to be chosen, is this accounted for in the old finished tracks for feedback and WIP feedback threads too? or JUST the dubs section?
Cheers

LOL, I like your confidence.
I know it's a pain, but it will be just the dubs section. This whole thing is to get more community vibes in there, more people networking and helping out each other. All the mods involved will keep eyes open for the feedback thread contributors but primary concern is the Dubs forum.

There will be roughly five per demo panel member, but I doubt all of the will receive feedback. So it's a bit of experiment for the first couple of months.

Interested to see this in practice (if it isn't already and I'm being thick?)
