jesus christ flux pavillion in second place, I think you're right that doesn't reflect the feelings of DSFMoultz wrote:Think a congrats is in order for all the winners to be honest. They all obviously must be doing something right to get them this kind of recognition and support.
Kryptic Mind's remix is superb a deserved winner and Youngsta is without a doubt a well deserved winner for best DJ.
Not too sure if Flux's results reflect what those on dubstep forum feel. I remember him posting up something on his facebook to attract votes and on facebook the guy has a ridiculous following worldwide. I wonder how many people from his facebook group signed up to DSF just to vote for him and his tune?

But unless they were members on here before, they wouldn't be able to sign up and vote. Have to be a member for a certain amount of time.

I COUGHT RAMADANMAN ON New Years in PDX.
That kid can mix like no other! We'll deserved first place, I'd say!
Work Them is light years beyond most "Dubstep" that came out this past year!
Looking forward to the fabric mix!

I think OverHertz should have won best producer. He's quite possibly the best producer in the world.... ever.

Re: DUBSTEPFORUM AWARDS 2011 RESULTS
As Dubway has stated, Flux Pavilion got to number 2 because he was the only filthy producer in the nominations so everyone that likes tearout would have voted for him, whereas anyone that likes Dubstep would have spread their votes between the other 9 nominations
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.
Re: DUBSTEPFORUM AWARDS 2011 RESULTS
I think the results are an absolute fair reflection of the current state of the scene.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely agree that Kryptic Minds, Mala, Silkie etc. are far superior producers than Flux Pavilion, but look around you'll see there's a massive market for that type of sound.
The only daft one was Soundcloud. A great site, yes, but it's hardly unique to dubstep/bass etc.

Big up Ramadanman, fully deserved.
Soundcloud also deserved the win. The only website on the list that i use on the reg and well usefull. Doesn't matter if its dubstep specific or not, why should it? Neither is fact but its still a good website.
A few annomolies in there but there always is. Better results than last year imo.

Re: DUBSTEPFORUM AWARDS 2011 RESULTS
Yes, the voting behaviour was representative of the scene and the forum. Happy with the results. I still have to mention that I can not fathom how Pariah was overlooked in every single category. I hope he will release some more stuff that people just can't overlook anymore.
Thank you DSF for organising this again. Perhaps more categories (according to 'style') isn't a bad idea. It might risk creating more boxes inside dubstep (aka the random creating of stupid subgenre's and naming them accordingly) but if the styles are divided quite generally, there shouldn't be a problem with that.
For example, adding a "dance floor" category (which I did on my blog haha) where the distinction between dance floor and home listening COULD be made. A suggestion I made last time around and was heralded to much flaming and insulting... anyway, thanks again for organising and congrats to all that won.

people used to make this mistake years ago, the music you categorise as home listening is actually completely dancefloor.joeki wrote:.

I was going to comment but thought I better not.
Just to give you an idea of what kind of Dubstep i follow like
I have no fucking Idea who Ramadanman is
So blaze me down in a ton o` glory.
Saying that though Previous years seem to reflect my tastes alot more.
