i've been consistantly pissed off with not being able to find good quality snare samples. nearly every single one i find is really flat, muddy or just generally gash.
i kno its all about layering but when the samples you use are shit the overall layered snare sounds pretty much the same....shit.
so does anyone have any favourite snare samples? not after anything inparticular just so long as i can work with it. wud greatly appreciate it!

there's a 'meanbeat' sample pack with a very nice (but limited) selection of drums and percussion... have a google search that's how i found it... these always work for me with a bit of layer and eq work... good luck!

Have a look at this thread, it's got a nifty trick for finding samples, snares whatever...

I made a sample pack.
1000 single hits
And a few multisampled basses.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RGFGZYH3
That should help
If it doesn't then you sould start looking at EQ, compression and layering again.
Also there are a few neat hints in the bible for getting nasty snares.
EQ @ ~200-250hz for snares. The meat of kicks is at bout 100

Proper respect for this

Grumble bass sounds real nice
EDIT: I may host that somewhere for late users if you agree
